Level – Pre-Primary
2020 has arrived and we are excited to get back to fun and excitement at Delhi
Public school, Nacharam.
“Every time you tear the last leaf off a calendar, you present a new place for
new ideas new year and new progress.”
January definitely has brought in fresh start like extended timings for PREP
students, celebration of Sankranti (festival of kites) which marks the
beginning of spring and harvest season for farmers all across India and
Republic day celebrations.

Group PTM for PREP parents
On 4th January 2020, group PTM was conducted for PREP parents regarding extended school
timings and schedule. The session covered the aspects like the time table scheduled for this
duration, reflective practices growth analysis and cursive handwriting helper.

Sankranti Sambaralu
On the occasion of Sankranti, a special assembly was conducted on 10th January. The
assembly commenced with an introduction to the festival, this was followed by
recitation of shlokas. Our pre-schoolers came dressed up in colourful traditional wear.
The celebration culminated with mesmerizing dance performances by the students.

Movie time was organized for pre-primary kids on 23rd January. It was an opportunity for
the children to develop socialization skills while learning to compromise, share, and
communicate with others. Cinema hall setting was staged. Students were first given the
denominations. Then they were asked to form a queue to buy tickets and popcorn. And later
they were given their seats. The tiny tots totally enjoyed watching the movie Ice-age 3.

As we approach 26th January, the Republic day of India, there is a feel of patriotism in the
air. To instil within the children the spirit of patriotism, on 24th January a special morning
assembly was held. The pre-schoolers were made to understand the importance of this day.
The children looked smart and happy dressed in white kurta pyjama. The assembly
concluded with dance performance on patriotic songs.

Republic day celebrations with parents
On 25th January, parents of pre-primary students were invited to participate in the republic
day celebrations. The event started with a prayer song. The preschoolers showcased their
patriotism by singing the Indian National song, delivering speeches and dancing on the
songs that portrayed unity in diversity. Fun-filled competitions like folk dance, singing,
ramp walk, Rangoli, art projects on the theme “W
ealth out of Waste” were conducted for the parents. In the end, our honorable judges
declared the winners who were awarded mementos for their spirit and participation.

Field trip for PREP students
Field trips are not only lots of fun but they can also be very valuable learning experiences
for young children. They can help build background knowledge and vocabulary that are
important for success in school and life. Our kindergarteners were taken to Post office and
Vijaya dairy farm for field trip experience. Postal service is a very large group and ensures
that more than one million homes and businesses have their mail delivered on time.
Similarly, Vijaya dairy farm provides us with products which have the highest
consumption in majority of Indian households.

ACADEMICS: As planned for the month
KIDS SPECTRUM:
The annual thematic co-curricular event was organized by students and teachers of Classes I
& II on 25th January 2020. “Our continent ASIA” and “EVOLUTION” were the themes
chosen by Classes I & II respectively. Class I selected a country each from Asia while Class
II selected Evolution of Paper, Clothing, Medicine etc. Students put up a spectacular display
of their academic and co-curricular skills showcasing the various aspects of the chosen theme.
The performances of the students were widely appreciated by the parents.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLIES:
PRE-REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS:
To mark the commemoration of the Indian Constitution, our students celebrated the Republic Day
with a flavour of patriotism and fervour through a skit and a dance.
SANKRANTHI CELEBRATIONS: A special asssembly showcasing the importance of Sankranthi as harvest festival was
celebrated.
A mythological skit on Goda Devi was enacted by students of Classes I & II. Rituals specific
to Sankranthi such as Bommalakoluvu, Bhogi Pandlu were performed to reiterate the customs
and traditions of the region

TECHNO WEEK CELEBRATIONS: As a part of Techno Week Celebrations a special assembly was conducted highlighting the
importance of technology specially Robotics in our daily lives. 2 Students have demonstrated
the use of Scratch Jr, Wiggle Bot followed by a dance.

TECHNO WEEK COMPETITION: As a part of techno week, Doodle making and MS- Paint competitions were held for classes
I & II respectively. Students participated enthusiastically and came up with creative Doodles
and Drawings. Some of the winning Doodles are shared below.
DREAM VALLEY:
Students of Class-2 went on a picnic to Dream Valley Resorts accompanied by their
teachers. There were games, music, dance and a magic show and children enjoyed
thoroughly.

SANKRANTHI SPECIAL ASSEMBLY
Makar Sankranti is believed traditionally to mark the arrival of spring in India. As it is the
festival of Sun God and he is regarded as the symbol of divinity and wisdom, the festival also
holds an eternal meaning to it. A Special Assembly was organized by Class 3&4 staff and
students of DPS,Nacharam in the school atrium on 13 January, 2020 with an objective of
making the students aware of Makar Sankranti festival and its different forms of
celebration.The rich colourful traditions of the Harvest festival were brought alive through
vibrant and energetic dances and songs to usher in the festival.The traditions like ‘Colourful
muggulu’, ‘Bhogi mantalu’ (Bonfire), ‘Bhogi pallu’ and ‘Bommala koluvu’ provided a visual
treat. Traditions like ‘Gangireddulu’ (decorated bulls), performing feats to the tunes of their
trainer, and ‘Haridasu’, which are fast disappearing in urban areas, were the main attractions
of the special assembly. Children enjoyed the festival celebration to the core.

‘SAVE BIRDS’ CAMPAIGN CONDUCTED BY CLASS 4 STUDENTS
Makar Sankranti is a traditional festival celebrated in most parts of India. In many areas during
this festival, kite flying is a major activity. In a bid to check the rising bird casualties during
the kite flying season, 'Save Birds' campaign was conducted by the students of Class 4 on 13
January, 2020 at DPS, Nacharam.
The campaign aimed at creating awareness and sensitizing students towards birds and
dissuading kite flying enthusiasts from using glass coated ‘manjhas’. Several birds lose their
lives or become permanently disabled during Makar Sankranti by getting entangled in glass
coated manjhas. The students of Class 4 carried placards to spread the message of conserving
the birds and also to be vigilant while flying kites.
‘Enjoy Sankranti by letting the birds survive’ was the main awareness that was spread
across the school through this campaign.

REPORT ON EDUCATIONAL FIELD TRIP TO THE HIDDEN CASTLE
The Hidden Castle, as its name suggests, is an imposing castle-themed resort, a one-hour’s
smooth drive away from Hyderabad. Sprawling majestically over 30 acres of untamed terrain,
it is just what adventure and nature lovers dream of.
Class 4 students of DPS,Nacharam, were taken on an Educational field trip to the Hidden
Castle on 24 January, 2020.The importance of Educational trips includes giving students the
chance to build closer bonds with their classmates and teachers, experience new environments
and enjoy a day away from the classroom. All the students were excited to explore the castle.
They were awestruck by the amazing infrastructure of the castle and mesmerized by the beauty
in and around it.
The awe-inspiring experience began with the adventure activities that were awaiting them.
The students enjoyed to the core by singing, dancing and playing many other games.
Trip to the Hidden Castle was a memorable one for both the students and the teachers.

TECHNO WEEK CELEBRATIONS
With the easy access and increased use of the internet, security of personal information and
assets has become a major concern for everybody. Taking the high risk of this exposure into
consideration, Grades 3 & 4 organized a special Techno week assembly on cybersecurity. The
speakers shared their experiences and focused on securing passwords, safe online sites, new
games and the policies to accept. They also shared some cookies with the students regarding
the hacker and the symbols they can be aware of.
The students learned some really important and valuable tips to practice in their daily life
through the workshop that are sure to be of great use in the long-term.

JOY OF GIVING
“To the full value of joy you must have someone to divide it with”…
The above statement was well justified by the students DPS Nacharam .The Joy of Giving
‘programme was conducted on 11th January. Management has invited government school to
donate the items which were cheerfully donated by the students of classes III & IV. The event
started with a prayer song and Principal has addressed the gathering and words of Wisdom by
our chairman. Finally the programme concluded with the distribution of various stationery
items and the friendship bands to the students of Government school.
INTERHOUSE RANGOLI COMPETITION
An Inter House Rangoli Making Competition for classes III and IV was held on 13 January,
2020 in the school premises at DPS ,Nacharam. Six students from each House participated in
the competition. The participants’ enthusiasm and excitement shone bright as they poured their
artistic, imaginative and creative skills using vibrant colours to make bright and beautiful
Rangolis. The judges for the event were senior Art teachers and the judging criteria was based
on colour combination, creativity and neatness of the Rangoli patterns.The first position was
bagged by Ruby House. Topaz House secured the second position. Sapphire and Emerald
House secured the third position

Techno Week Celebrations
As part of Techno Week Celebrations a special assembly was organised by the students and
teachers of classes V & VI. An awareness programme on Cyber safety was conducted by
computer teachers in every class during that week.
Sankranthi Celebrations
The festival of Sankranthi was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm. A special assembly
was organised by Telugu department children. The children was introduced to the rich culture
and heritage of Telangana.

Photography Contest & Exhibition
A photography contest was organised for the budding photographers of classes V & VI. The
theme given for the contest was Bio Diversity of my school. The students were taken around
the campus to click photographs as per the theme. The best photos were displayed in the Art
Gallery Vernalepana and was judged by an eminent judge. Parents were invited to come and
view the exhibition. The 12 winning photographs were sent for printing as a table calendar.

Pre-Primary:
Carnival
Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for a touch of a friendly hand…
This was what the carnival was all about. A winter carnival was organized by Delhi Public
School, Mahendra hills in its atrium on 11th January, 2020. The main idea behind organizing
the Carnival was to bring students, teachers and parents together to enjoy the day to the fullest.
This exuberant celebration started with a skit based on the story ‘Alice in wonderland’ which
was showcased by the children of Prep. The skit was followed by a beautiful song and dance
performed by Prep B. It was a fun filled day on the premises of the School which witnessed
immense participation by students and their parents .Numerous games stalls were set up in the
classes of Preprimary for children and parents. The bright faces and happy smiles were ample
proof that the Winter Carnival was a grand success

Pre Republic day celebration
Patriotic songs play an important role in teaching moral values to kids and educate them
about the culture and history of our country. Singing competitions are fun and provide great
opportunities. Encouraging children to take part in singing competition has a great effect on
their cognitive development. Patriotic singing competition was held in the atrium of DPS,
Mahendra hills on 24.1.20 for Preprimary. Each class showcased their talents in singing in a
very special way. The budding singers put up the amazing show with their melodious voice
and mesmerized the audience present in the hall. The class wise participants were judged on
their melody, rhythm, synchronization and general impression. It was a tough contest and was
difficult to judge.
Field Trip to Sarva Dharam Sthal in AOC:
A fun-filled and informative fieldtrip for the Pre-Primary Section has been organised by
DPS,Mahendra hills on Monday, 19th June 2020 to Sarva Dharam Sthal in AOC . God is our
protector that’s what we imbibe in our children at school and in our homes. The importance
of field trips includes giving students the chance to build closer bonds with their classmates,
experience new environments and enjoy a day away from the school. Children were
mesmerized to see the serene beauty of nature while taking a walk along the lush green lawns
through Sarva Dharam Sthal in AOC. Teachers showed the “Places of worship” They were
excited to see the Gurudwara, Vinayak temple, Masjid and Church in AOC. The teachers
explained to the children the importance of worshiping in our daily lives. Our tiny tots were
excited to visit the place and they enjoyed their day.

Crazy foot wear day:
Crazy footwear day was celebrated in Pre-primary section of DPS, Mahendra hills on 31st
of January. The objective was to encourage students to match their shoes in group and have
fun. This activity helped student think out of the box, rather than to wear shoes black in colour
on a daily basis. Wearing decorative shoes was a great opportunity to increase rapport in
groups. This day was celebrated with great interest to give new experience to its students. It
was a fun filled experience in which students could match their shoes with their
uniform.Teachers taught children about the importance of wearing shoes and keeping their
feet clean and safe . The students enjoyed the day as they walked in their crazy footwear.
Primary and Middle School:
Techno Week:
Delhi Public School, Mahendra Hills organized a week long Technology Fest from 6th Jan to
11th Jan 2020 in the school premises. Students from classes 1 to 7 actively took part in this
fest to become progressive learners in the field of technology. Sailing through the 21st century,
technology in the classrooms has become more predominant. Students presented various topic
talks on Internet Safety and Security, Cyber Bullying and Crimes, and the latest updates in
Technology. School also arranged for guest lectures on Cyber Safety and Security, E-waste,
Cyber Crimes etc. Students participated in Techno paint competition, designing in MS-paint,
Ad making and Poster making and came up with innovative and creative ideas.

Karao Sambhav Project:
DPS Mahendra Hills intends to create awareness on critical environmental issues and urges
students to adopt preventive environmental strategies in their daily lives with innovative and
utilitarian projects. One such project that the school has taken up is the Karo Sambhav project
that literally translates from Hindi to “make possible”. With an aim to work on and solve the
e-waste challenge in India by building an environmentally and economically sustainable
ecosystem,this project was initiated in our school with a pledge to keep the environment clean
for a better today and tomorrow. The project flagged off with a lot of enthusiasm and
inquisitiveness among the students as they were being provided a prospect for being a part of
another resourceful and learning experience. The school and management encourages the
students to lead a sustainable lifestyle and to inspire them to become catalysts of change.
Students were provided with an opportunity to work on solving the environmental challenges
of today by understanding the complex relationship of these challenges with the daily life
choices people make. Students of class 7 conducted special assembly to spread awareness
among students, Interviewed authorized dealers of e-waste and performed street plays. The
students were elated when they performed at the DSL Virtue Mall, Ramanthapur Hyderabad.
They presented a Hindi skit “Dastaan Ae E-waste”, a Dance drama on creating awareness on
recycling of e-waste and a Ramp walk on safety and security in Cyberspace.
The students received immediate feedback on their performance and were gratified by the hard
work that they had put in.

Scholarship:
With an aim to motivate and encourage students, DPS Mahendra Hills (Feeder School of DPS
Nacharam) awarded scholarships to meritorious students in Academics, Sports and PVA. The
ceremony began with lighting of the lamp accompanied by a soulful rendition of the prayer
song. Principal Mrs. Sunitha Rao accorded a warm welcome to the august gathering. She
congratulated the students for their stellar performance in Academics, Sports and PVA. She
stressed on the importance of school life that provides a rich platform to create multifaceted
value system and the necessity of instilling good moral values and life-skills in children. The
young achievers were called upon to receive the certificates along with their proud parents.
Parents expressed their gratitude towards the school and the management for providing a
platform for their children to excel in their chosen fields. The event concluded with gleaming
faces of children delighted and motivated to move ahead and take pride in achieving many
more milestones in the future.

Sankrathi Celebrations:
DPS Mahendra Hills (Feeder school of DPS Nacharam) celebrated ‘Makar Sankranti’ with
much merriment and enthusiasm. Students from Classes I & II came dressed in their traditional
best and showcased the 11 different ways the Indian states celebrate the harvest festival.
Students were in a festive mood and enjoyed all the programmes. The stage was embellished
with flowers and rangolis to mark the celebration. A series of special Sankranti dances by the
students stole the heart of parents. A beautifully decorated Gangidreddu (bull) visited the
school premises. Sankranti is also the celebration of cattle, particularly bulls, which play a
vital role in helping the farmer produce crops. The skyline was dotted with colourful kites as
parents were also invited to partake in the festivities. Many mothers came forward and
participated in the rangoli competition whereas at the same time fathers enjoyed kite flying
competition in school playground followed by Prize distribution for Rangoli and Kite flying.
Head Mistress Ms. Neetu Gupta Puri explained to the students about the glory, rich heritage,
culture and essence of the festival and the importance of celebrating it with great zeal and
vigour.

Pre- Republic Day Celebrations:
The 71st Republic Day celebrations of Delhi Public School -Mahendra Hills for classes Pre-
primary, I and II was held on 24th January as Pre-Republic Day celebrations.
The celebrations began with class I students sharing their views on Republic Day followed by
a melodious song by students of class II. HM ma’am – Ms. Neetu Gupta Puri then addressed
the students wherein she spoke about how important Republic Day is and how one must follow
the rules and regulations in order to practice their duties and responsibilities as a responsible
citizen of India. After the awakening talk by HM ma’am, the little toddlers of pre-primary
came dressed as National symbols and leaders and spoke about them with great pride. The
students of class 1 and 2 then showcased their talent in yoga and Taekwondo. The celebrations
thus concluded with class II students giving an energetic dance performance filled with
patriotism followed by everyone singing the National Anthem in unison.

Baby’s Day out:
Delhi Public School, Mahendra Hills (Feeder School of DPS Nacharam) organized its yearly
event titled Baby’s Day Out for children of class 1 on 25th January, 2020. This fun-filled event
was organized to bring in a feeling of sharing, caring and friendly approach amongst the
children. It was a day out for children with their teachers and friends, away from their parents
from 8:30 am to 6:30pm. Children were eager to start the day out as they came totally prepared
to have maximum fun. They were warmly welcomed by Headmistress, Ms. Neetu Gupta Puri
and Class 1 teachers. The morning started with a prayer followed by an energizing Zumba
dance by Western Dance teacher Ms Saritha R. After a healthy breakfast comprising of Idli
Vada Sambhar served by the teachers, the children were seen thoroughly engrossed in various
activities like Wall Art, Brownie Baking, Musical Chairs, Fun Rides, Take Home Activity and
Magic Show. Children relishing the food during lunch time was a sight to behold. They
watched an animation movie in the company of their friends and were exhilarated. Magic
show was the most enthralling event of the day children were spellbound to see the surprising
feats of the magician. Students sang songs and enjoyed every moment of the day. Dancing on
the foot tapping numbers was the most awaited event where our young ones exhibited their
dancing talent. They danced with all their energy and enjoyed the evening. The children had
their evening snack followed by a cultural programme for their parents who came in eagerly
to see their tiny tots perform. The day out ended on a high note with Prize Distribution, Cake
Cutting and Vote of Thanks. The parents thanked the school management, teachers and
support staff for organizing a fabulous event to enhance the social skills of the children.

Rangoli / Flower decoration competition:
To develop aesthetic sense amongst children and to make them think and work creatively an
Inter House Rangoli / Flower Decoration Competition was organized on 10th December 2019,
for the students of Delhi Public School Mahendra Hills. The competition was held in two
categories. In Category “ I” the students of all the four houses made beautiful patterns on the
floor using coloured rice, flowers, coloured sand or paints and in Category” II” the students
of all the four houses arranged the flowers beautifully towards creating an ambience using
flowers, foliage and other floral accessories. The students put their best foot forward and took
part in the competition with zest. Innovation and creation are the words that best describes
their efforts. They exhibited their flair in the art by making beautiful Rangoli designs using
geometric shapes, deity impressions and floral motifs. Rangoli colours, flower petals and diyas
were used to decorate the Rangolis and for Flower Arrangement they used fresh cut flowers,
dried flowers and artificial flowers as well. The judging criteria were based on symmetry,
colour combination, creativity and neatness. The competition for Rangoli was judged by our
teachers Ms. Archana and Ms. Sirisha and Flower Arrangement was judged by Ms. Anitha
Stephen & Ms. Trisha who had a tough time choosing the best. They were scrupulous in their
judgment as all houses had equally faired the competition. Overall, the whole event was
entertaining and full of thrill. Colours create excitement and flowers spread fragrance in life.
It brings happiness and makes everything beautiful in the world. So, this kind of competitions
should be organized more at all levels. In Rangoli the first position was secured by Aadrika
(III A) of Emerald House, Laasya (IV A) of Emerald House and Bhavya (V B) of Emerald
House.
Tejasree (III B) of Emerald House, Rishika(IV E) of Emerald House and Himanshi (V A) of
Ruby House got second position.
The third position was bagged by P. Harshita (III A) of Emerald House, Sai Shruti (IV C) of
Emerald House and Sumana (V B) of Sapphire House.

Yogith (III D) of Emerald House, Shraddha (IV A) of Emerald House and Tejopranavi (V B)
of Topaz House were awarded by Consolation prizes.
In Flower Arrangement the first position was secured by Rachit (V D) of Topaz House. Second
position was bagged by Manya (III C) of Emerald House and Vaishnavi (IV B) of Topaz
House.
Ananth Sagar (III A) of Ruby House and Hasini (V C) of Ruby House got third position
Republic Day Celebrations:
DPS, Mahendra Hills (Feeder school of DPS, Nacharam) celebrated the 71st Republic Day
with patriotic fervor and gaiety. The celebrations commenced with the customary unfurling of
the national flag by Chief Guest Lt Col Ravi Pandey, Chairman M. Komariah and Head
Mistress Neetu Gupta Puri. The students saluted the National Flag followed by the National
Anthem. Chairman M. Komariah spoke about our diverse nation and the relevance of the
Constitution and the Preamble. The school choir presented two patriotic songs Nanha Munha
Rahi Hu and Yeh Jo Desh Hain Mera. The entire school joined the choir as the songs
reverberated in the surroundings. Aashna and Likhitha of class 7 gave speeches in Hindi and
Telugu expressing their views on the importance of celebrating Republic Day. Class 2 students
performed a dance on the song Mangal Mangal Ho amidst loud applause from the audience.
Chief Guest Lt Col Ravi Pandey addressed the students and urged them to do their best and

presented by Scouts and Guides students. The street play showcased the perils of electronic
waste being discarded openly and its harmful impact on us all. The act motivated students to
initiate the change they wish to bring with a sense of responsibility and awareness towards
their rights HM Ms. Neetu Gupta Puri in her address to the parents and students emphasized
on the need to inculcate responsible attitude, moral ethics and values in children. DPS
Mahendra Hills truly believes and supports the nation-wide Fit India Movement launched by
our honorable Prime Minister. Students across classes demonstrated their fitness levels by

Wall Magazine Competition:
Wall magazines are a beautiful medium within the educational institutions for the students to
express their creativity where the students can post their articles, poems, artistic works, any
piece of interesting and informative news or anything they want to share with their fellow
students. They can be in the form of collage giving a message. At DPS MH, students’
imagination and creativity is nurtured and given wings to soar to the sky. They create beautiful
and meaningful pieces of art to express their emotions. These are showcased by the School’s
Wall Magazine competition which is held for middle school every year. This year the main
theme of the wall magazine was “Moral Values in Modern Times”. Some of the topics were
Being respectful, Forgiveness/thankfulness, dealing with bullying etc. Our HM Ms. Neetu
Gupta appreciated the creativity and dexterity of the students and the staff who coordinated
preparation of the Wall Magazine.

The portion for the academic year 2019-20 was completed by January 13th 2020 in almost all
classes. Revision for the annual exams was started from 17th of January 2020 in order to
promote student performance mock tests were started every day in the zero period from the
30th of December 2019. Students were also encouraged to learn outdoors.
Inter House Rangoli and Flower Arrangement:
Sankranthi took a colourful hue on 11th of January 2020 with the Inter House Rangoli and
Flower Arrangement Competitions. Students took great pains to present a colourful show
before the judges. The school took a festive air on this day.

A special assembly was conducted on 13th of January 2020 bringing out the significance of

As the academic year was coming to an end, students were sent on a day long picnic. Class 7
students were sent to Dream Valley and class 8 students were sent to Hidden Castle on the
25th of January. The students had a whale of a time enjoying themselves.
Savoi Faire:
An effort was made to emphasize value systems in classes through assemblies and Guest
lectures. In this regard , the life skills department organized Savoi Faire, a Student Led
Programme on showcasing the need for values in students. All sections chose selected values
and presented them in groups in class in the form of a skit, power point presentation, through
charts and posters etc. The programme was meaningful and was a success in touching students.

All the students of Science / Commerce / Humanities were given extended academic support
on all Sundays and holidays by the teachers to ensure that students were prepared for all the
Pre-Board exams. To ensure that the students have enough practice of the new pattern of
examination, school has also taken the initiative to administer Online Concept Tests for
MCQs, fill in the blanks etc. from 20th January, to 15th February, 2020. The schedule for the
same was shared on studease for the convenience of students.
PTM -CLASS XII
A PTM was conducted on 4th January 2020 for parents of students of Classes XII A to XII D
mainly to appraise parents about the Pre-board II results. Later the Vice -Principal addressed
the parents who attended and explained the Board exam evaluation process and preparation
techniques. Both the coordinators addressed and explained the Academic support being given
by the school and discussed academic performance of the students.
PTM -CLASS X
A PTM was conducted on 4th January 2020 for parents of students of Class X which was
attended by 35 parents. The Principal, Senior Vice-principal, Vice-principal and Academic
Coordinator spoke to Parents who were given guidelines about readiness for board exam and
how to support the children at home. They explained the two-month academic calendar of
Class X and all the initiatives taken by the school in supporting the children for academic

Diploma in French Studies is a certification of French-language abilities for non-native
speakers of French administered by the International Centre for French Studies, Centre

IN CONV HALL (6TH JAN)
The first workshop that was held on the Sustainable Development Goals and Child Rights was
successful. It enabled the students to participate in fun-filled, interactive activities and learn
about the programmes and policies initiated by the UN. The students were able to understand
why the need of hour had come to change the Millennium Development Goals into the more
accomplishable Sustainable Development Goals and what they were. The discussions led to
the understanding of the importance of Child Rights

The second workshop commenced along with introducing a new, though familiar, topic
knowing Our Constitution. It was meant to make the students aware about the ‘hidden’ features
of the Constitution, or those sections of the Constitution which are ‘taken for granted’.
The third workshop was a sequel to the previous workshop that was based on Knowing Our
Constitution, and more about the importance of the Fundamental Duties than the Rights.
They were divided into groups for various activities to accomplish the objective of the

The school has been instilling the noblest human traits among its students for decades about
the importance of sharing with the feel of universal brotherhood. The school has notified the
students about organizing the JOY OF GIVING event on 9th January ,2020 for which received
a thunderous response and donations from students across all the classes on a larger scale.
The contribution has been in a wide range of winter essentials, academic requirements and
food items which include rice and flour. The school has invited Tejas Foundation for Blind
and Devayar school for blind from Begumpet and a few more NGO’s. The responsibility of
organizing the events on 9th January was given to Mr. R R Teja and Mrs. Jeeva the PGT
teachers.
The students of grade 11 have conducted many fun filled activities to all the invitees where

visually challenged participants which had won great applause. Ultimately with distribution
of refreshments, joining hand in hand with them, the students had given a great message to the
society “The smallest deed is better than the greatest intention.” All the benefactors had

ASSEMBLY- 8th JANUARY
Emerald house assembly vibrantly displayed the skills cl 9 students have. The session opened
up with the prayer song, a new word, thought for the day. The news updated the audience
about the latest happening around. The dramatic monologue and the skit put up
enthusiastically by the students, showcased their dramatic skills. The session closed with a
positive talk by Vice-Principal, Ms. Renu Gehlawat.
SANKRANTHI CELEBRATIONS- Special Assembly
The assembly put up by the students of cl 9 was grand presentation on the cultural relevance
of the one of the important festivals of the Indians. The relevance of customary practices
during the Sankranti festival, was vivid impacted through stupendous display of dialogues and
presentation of skit. Students crooned the music played. The session was a fantastic display

Bhodmayandaji’s for his blessings and board exam instructions. Assembly was concluded
with Head boy and Head girl’s speech and expressed their thanks to all the children for their
support all through the year.
GRADE X SPECIAL ASSEMBLY : CLASS X (FELICITATION OF ACADEMIC AND
CO-CURRICULAR ACHIEVERS)
A special assembly was conducted for students of Grade X on Tuesday, 28 January 2020 in
the school atrium at 1.30pm. The purpose was to address, instruct and motivate students for
their forth coming board exams and to appreciate those who proved their worth in various
categories so far. The students were addressed by the Principal Ms. Sunitha Rao. She
underscored the importance of having a study plan and following a systematic routine for
better performance in the examinations. She also assured them of teachers’ support at all times.

On 16th January, Vice-Principal initiated to allow students to fly kites in the campus after their

CBSE NATIONAL SCIENCE EXHIBITION 16TH JAN- SUN CITY SCHOOL, DELHI
Two science students of DPS Nacharam, M. Manish and Md. Anas of Grade XI succeeded at
the State level of the Science Competition and reached CBSE Science Competition held during
15th-18th January, 2020 at New Delhi. The two young scientists were trained and guided by
the senior Chemistry faculty Dr. Srinivas on the topic “Sustainable Development Practices in
Agriculture and Water Conservation”. The students were accompanied by English faculty Mr.
R.R.Teja to Delhi Public School, Faridabad. The host Suncity school, Gurgoan has organized
the competition very systematically and was appreciated by the chairperson of CBSE board
Mrs.Anitha Karwal IAS. The competition was for two days in which the three rounds of

judgement was done and the students of DPS Nacharam had cleared all rounds against 599
projects and reached to the finale in top 10th position on 17th January, 2020 and only project
from Telangana. Principal Mrs Sunitha Rao and Vice Principal Ms. Nandita Sunkara

REPORT ON CBSE STORYTELLING COMPETITION
The first round of CBSE Storytelling Competition took place in December 2019 with Advita
Velury of class 11-A, DPS Nacharam representing the entry for Senior Secondary level. The
results for the same were released on the 9th of January 2020 by the CBSE. Advita was the
only candidate to be nominated for nationals of the Chennai Region representing Senior
Secondary level.
Further, on 27 January 2020, Advita was accompanied by her parents to Mayur School, Noida
for the CBSE National Storytelling Competition 2019-20. The 64 regional winners assembled
in the venue for their presentation. Upon their presentation, certificates were distributed to the
regional winners wherein Advita received hers too. On the whole, the whole journey was a
learning experience for Advita who gave her best shot for the same

22ND JANUARY : NODAL EXAMINATION TRAINERS’ TRAINING
ORIENTATION PROGRAMME
The Nodal Examination Trainers’ Training Orientation Programme was hosted by DPS
Nacharam on 22 January 2019 in the school auditorium for nearly 200 participations from
principals, vice principals and other senior faculty members from various schools across the
city. The workshop was conducted by resource members, Dr. M.V.V. Prasada Rao, Regional
Director and Head, CBSE Centre of Excllence, Kakinada and Principal Ms. Sunitha Rao. The
presence of Chairman Shri M. Komaraiah, DPS and Pallavi group of institutions and Shri
Prem Narayan, Chairman of SVIT Engineering College, graced the programme. After Vice
Principal Ms. Nandita Sunkara’s welcome address, the first session commenced at 10 a.m.,
encapsulating the recent changes introduced in the evaluation process. The session also
addressed common errors committed by examiners along with the examiners’ DO’s and
DON’T’s. Dr Prasada Rao also opened the forum to answer public queries. He elaorated on
the smooth conduct of exams and evaluation process. The session also clarified the various
measures CBSE has taken to make evaluation transparent and uniform. The session

31st January, 2020 -US UNIVERSITIES’ VIST – MINI CAREER FAIR
The school has organised a mini US university fair for senior secondary students on 31t
January, 2020. Participating universities were University of Delaware, Eastern Michigan
University, University of New Mexico, West Virginia University, and Marian University.
Students were given information about application Process, the various programs offered by
the Universities and Scholarship programs too. The guests were introduced by the Vice-
principal Ms. Nandita Sunkara and the career counsellor Ms. Vandana Dadi. Students were
glad to have information so easily made accessible for them by the school. The Session was

69 Students of Class X to XII received along with 3 staff members participated in the CPR
Training held in Delhi Public School, Nacharam. The First aid and CPR training program was
conducted under the leadership of Canadian Red Cross certified trainers to create awareness
regarding the first aid skill in school children and the staff and to equip them with a sense of
purpose to enhance health and safety standard at the school and the Community.

Workshop was to make teaching of Math joyful and creative. 30 participants from various
DPS schools participated. The sessions were taken by veteran mathematicians like Dr.Hukum
Singh, Dr. Kiran Datar & Mr.Mahender Shankar. Overall, it was an enriching experience for
the teacher.

National Football Championship Junior category 2019.
Tanmay Pania played for the state team of Telangana Under 16 category , state team for the
National competition held at Mandi – Himachal Pradesh. Dr. B C Roy Championship –
December/January 2020. He was selected as the best Goal Keeper in the Sreenidhi Premier
league in May 2019. Tanmay played for the DPS Nacharam CBSE cluster under 19 category
and the team was runners up in the tournament.
Represented Topaz House as Captain for 2 consecutive years and both years the house was
the winner in Intra murals football competition.
