Project Exhibition-2019

The Project Exhibition was conducted by the Department of Electronics &

Instrumentation Engineering on 11th May, 2019. The main aim of this exhibition is to

showcase the innovations and creativity through their final year projects. There are 11

final year projects and 10 mini projects exhibited on that day and these projects were

evaluated by Dr. S C Prasanna Kumar, Professor, Dept. of EIE., RVCE, Bengaluru and

Mr. Kotresh Kumar, Digital shark technology, Bengaluru who are experts from academia

and industry.

PARENTS‟ TEACHERS‟ MEETING

The Department of Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering organized the Parents‟

Teachers‟ meeting on Saturday, 11th

May, 2019 from 11.00 AM to 1PM. This meeting was

attended by parents of 2nd

, 4th

, 6th

& 8th

semester students. Around 30 parents attended the

Meeting. Dr. D. MaheshKumar, Head of the Department, welcomed the gathering and gave a

brief overview of the Department profile and its activities of the ongoing semester to the parents.

The Objectives of the meeting were to discuss about students‟ attendance status, students‟

academic performance, activities and achievements of the Department and also to take

suggestions from parents.

Workshop on IOT and Embedded System Design

The Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering and the Dept. of Electronics &

Instrumentation Engineering, JSSATE, Bengaluru had organized two days‟ hands on

Workshop on IOT and Embedded System Design, on 12th

and 13th

of April, 2019 for the

students of 6th

semester. The objective of this workshop was to provide the students the basic

knowledge about the Essentials of Embedded system and to give an overview of TI Internet of

Things. The resource persons for the workshop were Mr. Basavana Gouda, Sr. Application

Engineer, Mr. Mohan H M, Sr. Application Engineer, Mr. Rajesh, Application Engineer and

“Vote for India” – A Rally to create Public Awareness

The Department of Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering organized “Vote for

India”- A Rally to create public awareness under its socio-welfare unit “ABHYUDAYA”.

The objective of this rally was to inform the public and society about the necessity and

importance of casting their valuable vote.

The rally was inaugurated by Dr. Mrityunjaya V Latte, Principal, JSSATE, Bengaluru,

followed by a street play performance by the “Meraki” Team (a Drama troupe of JSSATEB). All

the students took an oath to cast their vote compulsorily.

The rally started at 10.00AM from JSSATE-B Campus, Dr.Vishnuvardhan road and

proceeded towards Channasandra and ended at Jayanna Circle via BEML Layout, Rajarajeshwari

Nagar. The participants of the rally conveyed the people and public on the way to cast their vote

without fail on April 18th

, 2019. Placards depicting the importance of voting, our duty as a

citizen of India and the right to vote were also carried to create awareness amongst the people.

The students also created more impact with their energetic slogans.

ANANTHAM-19

The Department of Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, JSSATE, Bengaluru had

organized a two days‟ Techno-cultural Fest ANANTHAM-19, on 6th

and 7th

of March, 2019.

This fest is held every year in the Department. This fest was organized in association with Indian

Society for Technical Education. The objective of this fest was to bring students of various

streams from different institutions to interact and share their innovative ideas, knowledge and

technical skills. The Inauguration was held at 9:30 AM on 6th

March, 2019. The Chief Guest of

the programme was Mr. Nitin Awasthi, Director Technical, APSIS Solutions, Bengaluru.

The inauguration was followed by the events like Tech Quiz, Circuit Debugging, Tech

Crosswords, C Programming, Pubg, Food Quiz, Beg Borrow Steal, Mock IPL, Tech

Spellbee, Logo Quiz, Minute to Win it, Mini cricket, 4 pics 1 word. The day ended with fun

and frolic. Day-2 of the fest, i.e. 7th

of March, 2019 kick started with the events Tech Debate

and Carrom. This was followed by events like Counter Strike Go, Mobile Photography, Tech

Jam, Paper Presentation, Game of shows, Solo Dance, Tech Hunt and Mock Placement.

The events were judged by faculties from other Departments who are experts in the relevant

field. Cash prizes and certificates were distributed to all the winners and runners of the events.

There were more than four hundred participants from other colleges like RNSIT, DBIT,

KSSEM, GAT, DSCE etc. The fest was concluded with cultural dance performances by

students of all the semesters of the Department. The fest was a memorable event and it was a

grand success.

Orientation Workshop on „Aircraft and Aerospace Engineering‟

A three days student orientation workshop on “Aircraft & Aerospace Engineering” was

organized from 21st – 23

rd February 2019, by the departments of E&IE, Mechanical

Engineering, E&CE and IEM. The workshop was conducted by „Centre of Excellence in

Aerospace & Defence‟ in Association with Department of IT, BT, S&T, Govt. of Karnataka,

VTU and Dassault Systems Inc., Bengaluru. A total of 162 students participated in the

workshop. The workshop was inaugurated on 21st Feb 2019 by Dr. K Badari Narayana, a

retired person from ISRO and UTC, Inc. Principal.

IDEATHON-18

The Department of Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, JSSATE, Bengaluru had

organized a one day technical event IDEATHON-18, on 14th

of November, 2018. This event

was organized in association with Indian Society for Technical Education. IDEATHON is a

short, intensive, brain-storming one day experience for all the students of JSSATE that

challenges participants to address real world problems through innovation. The objective of this

event was to bring students of various streams to interact and share their innovative ideas,

knowledge and technical skills. The Inauguration was held at 10:00 AM on 14th November,

2018. The Chief Guests of the programme were Dr. Netaji M, Chief Research Scientist, IISc,

Bengaluru and Dr. Sangappa S B, National Executive Council Member, ISTE, New Delhi. Dr. C

Ranganathiah, Director (A&A), JSSMVP, Mysuru was presiding over the function. The

inauguration was followed by the presentation of the ideas by the students. We had received a

total of 70 ideas from all the branches of JSSATE, Bengaluru. After the review process, 61

ideas were accepted. The selected ideas were scheduled for presentations in the event. The

presentations were scheduled in 4 tracks and each session was reviewed by two Judges. Cash

prizes and certificates were distributed to all the winners and participants of the event by the

Principal.
