END OF YEAR PRESENTATION ASSEMBLY We hope you can join us afterwards at our end of year assembly at 1pm on Friday 8th December. We have a fabulous array of entertainment from our talented musicians and singers. Kindergarten and Year 6 will also receive graduation gifts and we will present special awards to 3 Year 6 students. It will be a very special occasion with guests Mr Ian Davies (Kadina HS Principal) and Mr Greg Smith (Rivers College Executive Principal) presenting awards. NOTES, NOTES, NOTES Please help us with organisation by returning notes for all events in the last week whether your child will be attending or not. P & C EXCEL (AS USUAL) Last Monday, P&C Vice President, Cara Polowytsch, attended a staff meeting re school planning and budgeting which will be finalised early Term One. Afterwards we had another very positive and productive P & C meeting with discussion covering plans for the new year, our concert catering, disco evening, year 6 farewell dinner, achievements and successes for the year. I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the enthusiasm, dedication and tireless work of our P & C body and executive. It is a pleasure to work with them and we will be sad to see some long term families leave this year as their babies move to Secondary School. We are also thrilled to hear that we have some new families willing to help out next year. P & C also handed the school a cheque for over $1000 being subsidisation for our State athletes and our brand new shelving in the sports storeroom. WE FOUND A FLOOR IN THE SPORTS STOREROOM! Many thanks to Mr Sky (and his wife) who delivered and assembled new shelving for the sports equipment shed. The place is soooo organised and tidy. Thank you also to our wonderful senior students who rolled up their sleeves and helped with the tidying up. NRL WITH KEL AGAIN TOMORROW All students are looking forward to two more sessions of NRL which continues tomorrow. The programs aim is to teach skills and attitudes that will promote good sportspeople in not just NRL but all sports.

THANK YOU TO SCRIPTURE AND ETHICS TEACHERS Scripture and Ethics lessons ended this week and we want to thank Reverend Cooper and Jan Roberts, Kim Goodrick, Emma Cronin and our new Bahai Teacher, Sara, for giving up their time to come and present our students with valuable lessons. We know that everyone is keen to continue these in 2018 and Kim tells me we have a new wave of parents being trained in ethics. CREATIVITY IN THE 3 RS CONTINUING It was an exciting week in the classrooms as students conducted scientific experiments in 2/3, projects in 3 / 4 and presentations in 5/6. Congratulations to all our students who continue to be engaged and enthusiastic in their learning right to the end. LUNCHES IN THE LAST WEEK In order to give parents plenty of notice in preparing food for their children in the last week, we would like to make you aware of the following organisation. On Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th of the last week the children will be required to take a picnic lunch for themselves. As we do not have any refrigeration facilities, we recommend children carry a frozen brick or drink to keep their food cool. Further details will be sent home next week. On Thursday 14th, children will be asked to bring in a plate to share with their classmates for lunch. Students with dietary needs can bring a party plate just for themselves. Our last day will be a mufti day with funds going to the Reading Dogs Program and our school. NB – No candy canes until the last week. Michelle Slee Principal

At COOSH the children have been setting and breaking records in an energetic activity of their own design/choice. Brody did 109 jumps on the pogo stick, Zenny hung upside down on the play equipment ropes for one minute and Zoe did a minute’s handstand.

We also created a Nerf gun firing game, which grew in difficulty with each shot, learned how to use the hot glue gun safely and drew funny cartoon strips. In the newsletter, you will find a copy of the January 2018 vacation care program and a new Uniting booking form. If you have access to a scanner, you can simply fill in the booking form and attach it in an email to COOSH. However, you can still email, telephone or make a booking in person and we will fill in the form with your booking for our records. Please note our new email address is:

[email protected] We would really appreciate bookings for vacation care in advance, to ensure we have the correct number of staff and resources for each day. If you make a booking and then are not able to attend, we will do our best to offer a swap to an alternative day, so you are not charged for non-attendance. Just call and let us know and we will be happy to assist you.
