    Date; July 5, 1962

  • REPORT OF ASSESSMENT WORK

    Ball Township

    The Red Lake Mining Division

The Kenora District. Patricia Portion, Ontario

    Introduction

This report describes the results of a diamond drilling program submitted herewith as assessment work against 18 claims located in Ball Township, Red Lake Mining Division, Ontario. The claims numbered KRL 48264 to 48278 inclusive and 49874 to 49876 inclusive are located as shown on the attached plan.

The drill hole was positioned on claim KRL 48277 to investigate the results of a ground magnetometer survey performed during the winter of 1962.

Reports of work which accompany this report detail the status, location and registered ownership of the above claims.

    Diamond Drill Results

Diamond drill hole number F-6 was located to intersect a magnetic anomaly detected by a ground magnetometer survey. The hole was drilled to a final depth of 450 feet of which the initial 280 feet is herewith submitted for assessment credit.

The hole intersected magnetite iron formation interbanded with tuffs, amphibolites and garnetiferous quartz chlorite schists from 70.3 foot to 229.9 feet* The iron formation is described as a thinly bedded chlorite amphibole type with 20 to 60# magnetite* Minor pyrite occurs along the bedding claims. The tuff is described as a very fine grained banded rook with considerable chloritic alteration and with occasional finely dissem inated sulphides. The amphibolite varies from a fine to medium grain type with occasional sparcely scattered sulphides.

The accompanying drill plan, section of log and assay sheets indicate the location and orientation of the drill hole and the relative position of the various rock units.

    Conclusion

The diamond drill hole has satisfactorily explained the reason for the magnetic anomaly in this area.

    Respectfully submitted,

    FALCONBRIDGE NICKEL MINES LIMITED
