consider being a part of the Passion Play Choir, which is the backbone of the Passion Play. Be much in prayer for all the planning,

rehearsing, and all the intangibles that are involved with the Play. Contact Ray if you have any questions or suggestions.

May God be Glorified in all we say and do!

Ken’s Korner From Ken…. Lay Renewal was a tremendous success. People who attended are still talking about how God spoke to them personally. So many commitments were made that are life and eternity changing. We will continue to experience the results of that weekend for months and years to come. Our Church Council met this week and planned an agenda that is exciting. Here are some highlights:

1. We are looking at April 28-30, 2017 for a follow-up weekend to Lay Renewal. The focus of that weekend will be our Spiritual Gifts. It’s one thing to know what they are; it’s another thing to see how we can actually use them for the Kingdom of God. Be praying about this possibility.

2. We confirmed the following dates during the holidays:

MARK Thanksgiving Dinner – Sunday, November 20 at 5:00 pm. “Hanging of the Green” – Sunday, November 27 at 5:00 pm with an “After Church Fellowship” in the FLC dining room. Last MARK for the Fall – Sunday, December 4 with a MARK Christmas Celebration Service at

6:30 pm in the Sanctuary Christmas Festival with the Adult Choir and Orchestra – Sunday, December 11 at 6:00 pm. “Story Book Christmas” message – Sunday, December 18 during the morning worship service. Church-wide Christmas Dinner with Santa visiting – Sunday, December 18 at 6:00 pm in the Family Life Center. Candlelight Lord’s Supper – Wednesday, December 21 at 6:30 pm in the Sanctuary. Christmas Day – No Sunday School and an 11:00 am Worship Service. New Year’s Day – No Sunday School and a 10:15 am Worship Service.

3. The Golden Fellowship sponsors several special activities during this time of the year that anyone may

attend. In fact, we encourage you to come and enjoy each and every event.

“Southern Christmas Show” in Charlotte is Thursday, November 10th. The bus leaves at 7:00 am. A sign-up sheet can be found in the hallway of the educational building or you can call the office to sign up.

“M & J’s” Home Cooking luncheon trip (Toccoa) is Thursday, November 17. The bus

leaves the church at 10:30 am. “Christmas Shopping Trip” to Commerce and Mall of Georgia is Thursday, December 15. We

leave the church at 8:00 am and stop in Lavonia at Shoney’s for breakfast. We continue to Commerce and the Tanger Outlets. Then we travel to the Mall of Georgia. We will head home that evening with a stop at Cracker Barrel.

Finally, our Savannah Trip is back on. We are set for a great trip May 1-4, 2017 to the beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia. The trip includes 3 nights in a Country Inn & Suites, 3 breakfast meals, luncheon at Paula Deen’s, a Riverboat Dinner Cruise, another seafood dinner, visits at the Mercer-Williams house and the Savannah History Museum and time at the River Walk, plus much more. You can pick up a flyer and/or sign up on the Golden Fellowship Board today. Already we have 18 signed up. A small deposit is due now and you can make payments along the way to help your budget. This is going to be a great trip! Ken Reid Pastor

Youth Ministries - Brandon Howard, Director of Youth

We are continuing in our study of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus using the disciple triangle. I really believe that this study has been fruitful and I am looking forward to finishing it. Below you will see some upcoming events. Please let me know if your student can make it. Also let me know if they may need financial assistance with any of the events. Also, any adult is more than welcome to come chaperone or just come hang out and get to know the students. Thank you for your prayers and your support!

In Christ,

Brandon Howard

DONATION OF INK CARTRIDGES

As you know, we continue to collect used printer cartridges. We are able to deliver these to a

local business where we receive credit for office supplies/equipment. We are allowed to deliver

twenty (20) per month and with this receive $40 credit. This goes quite a long way when we have

need of paper, etc. for the office. If you have used cartridges available, please drop them off by the church office or the Sunday School office.

We’ll be happy to recycle these for you.

Thanks!

Hello CSBC!

This fall at C-Street Kids, we have introduced a new emphasis on missionaries. We talk about a missionary each month and we discuss where they live and what they do in the country they are from. Some of our missionaries, like a man we called Missionary X, are working in dangerous conditions in countries like Korea where it is illegal to talk about Jesus. We have also talked about a missionary family in Mexico that is working with the other pastors in the area to build and establish churches. Each time we talk about a missionary, we mark their country on our missionary map so that we remember to think of them and pray for them. I hope you will join us in praying for our missionaries all around the world!

In Bible Quest, our Pre-School and K-2 class is learning about the kings of Israel. The people wanted a king because everyone else had a king. The results in kings like Saul were disastrous! As we enter a new era in our country, I hope that we are always reminded like the Israelites that God is always in charge and is the true King! Our 3-5 grade Bible Quest class is learning Bible Drill skills like the books of the Bible. Hiding God’s word in our heart is a neces-sary skill for every age!

At MARK Club, we are learning songs and Bible verses to present at our MARK Club Thanksgiving Dinner and our MARK Club Christmas program! We want to see YOU there!

Meanwhile at Good News Club, we have been averaging over 100 children a week! It has been such a wonderful privilege to be involved in the lives of the students, teachers and administration of Walhalla Elementary School! Pray for us as we continue throughout this school year that the doors at WES will always be open for us! Your kindness and support of our C-Street Kids Ministry is so appreciated and so crucial! If you would like to be involved in any capacity, please let me know! ~ Lauren

UNUSED SMARTPHONES & IPADS Many of us have upgraded our Smartphones and / or iPads and still have the old devices at home. We would like for you to consider donating these items to CSBC. During the Security Plan discussions, security cameras on our buses were brought discussed. As you may know, cameras for this type of coverage can get expensive. To save some money, we want to try and mount a smartphone with camera to each of our buses and have them setup to simply record the trip. Since many of our bus trips with children only have one adult on the bus, we feel it necessary to provide an additional set of eyes for the bus driver.

As for the iPads, these devices will be utilized in the children and youths’ classroom programs.

If you are interested, please include any related items that you may have for the devices. We will need power cables, mounts (example: car mounts), and protective covers. If there are any security codes or personal data, please remove. When you are ready to donate your device(s), please place them in a bag and either give them to a deacon or deliver it to the church office. Please include your complete name and contact information.

If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call upon me.
