HOMILY

NICENE CREED I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation, he came down from heaven,

(All bow while saying:) and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

The Vocations Fund sponsors events and programs here at Holy Family which encourage young people in their discernment of God’s plan for their lives. It also provides financial assistance to young men from our parish with their seminary expenses and underwrites activities like the “Nun Run” in which young women make a road trip to visit different convents to see the rich variety of forms of consecrated life.

FORMED.ORG: LEARN ABOUT OUR MOTHER

To access Catholic movies, books, audio recordings and more, go to www.Formed.org, and sign up using our parish code: 2QCG4F.

Catholics traditionally honor Mary during the month of May. Learn more about her by listening to the audio, Mary: The Indispensable Mother of God (located under the AUDIO tab of www.Formed.org in the “Discover the Saints” section)! Tim Staples explains the profound way that Marian doctrines and dogmas safeguard what we believe about her Son, showing how correct knowledge of our humble Mother reveals our own identity in Christ, and

empowers us to say “Yes” to God!

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS TO HOST SIXTH MEETING IN CATHOLIC WATCHMEN SERIES All men of the parish are welcome! On Friday, June 9th, the Knights of Columbus will host the next educational meeting in the Catholic Watchmen series. The session topic is scripture. Well-known evangelist Jeff Cavins will provide a video message; "Encountering Jesus in Sacred Scriptures." The program is open to all interested men, and will start at 7:30 PM with Rosary in the Church, followed by the Watchmen study event in Fr. Moorman Hall at 8 PM. Meal and beverages are provided but a free will donation is appreciated. The Knights monthly business meeting will start at 6:45 PM in the Fr. Wilkins Room. You do not have to be a Knights of Columbus member to participate in the Watchmen sessions.

NEW ENSEMBLE FLOS FLORUM CONCERT All are welcome to support our parishioners, Emma Arachtingi, Stephen Arachtingi, and Nathan Romportl, as their musical ensemble Flos Florum performs a concert today, May 28th. The concert will be held at 3 PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Minneapolis.

The Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter, the parent organization of the Church of St. Bede, is equivalent to a diocese

and was created by the Vatican in 2012.

The Ordinariate was formed in order to help former Anglicans become Catholic and celebrate Catholic Masses while still retaining

some Anglican traditions.

Therefore, this Mass is different from the Sunday Mass you are probably used to, but still orthodox and fulfills a Roman

Catholic's Sunday obligation.

All are welcome to attend! Visit the Church of St. Bede’s website at www.thevenerablebede.org for more information.

Thank you! We’re Almost There! Over the past few weeks, Holy Family has been trying to raise a total of $35,000 to make much-needed audio-visual upgrades in the church and school, such as:

A new HD camera and projection system for our church’s downstairs family area Upgraded wireless microphones for in the church New ceiling speakers for the church’s Fr. Moorman Hall A/V system A new microphone and amplifier system for the school’s Kattar Hall A multi-camera system to professionally record church events (including weddings and Masses)

Special Appeal Goal for 2017: $35,000
