Respect Life

Elizabeth Flannery is the Grand Marshall. Assisted Suicide Bills in Massachusetts – MA Bills S.1208 and H.1926 are designed as an application process for

obtaining a lethal drug cocktail. MA Bill state that the patient can choose to self-administer, meaning that the law permits another person to administer the lethal dose. When another person administers the lethal dose, the act is called euthanasia or

homicide. In addition the Massachusetts bill does admit that most assisted suicide deaths are not quick and painless. The bills state: “I further understand that although most deaths occur within 3 hours, my death may take longer and my physician

has counseled me about this possibility.” An article in the Spring Hill Insider state that assisted suicide researchers are promoting a third generation of lethal drug cocktails. The results of the first 2 were: “The first turned out to be too harsh,

burning patients’ mouths and throats, causing some to scream in pain. The second drug mix, used 67 times, has led to deaths that stretched out hours in some patients – and up to 31 hours in one case.” Please pray that the MA Bills does not

pass and we in NY are more aware of the horror of assisted suicide in addition to the immorality of it.

Prayer for our Troops Almighty God and Father, hold our servicemen and women in your loving hands. Protect them as they

protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time and need.

We ask this in the name of Jesus, Our Lord and Savior.

Amen.

Saint Michael, the Archangel, Please guide and protect our Police Officers, Firefighters, Emergency

Personnel and First Responders

Ask Sr. Rose What is the Rosary based on?

It is a scripture based prayer. The mysteries of the Rosary center on the events of Christ’s life.

Pope Francis’ Intention for March: Catholics in China

That the church in China may persevere in its faithfulness to the Gospel and grow in unity.

On Fasting “In fact, the external aspects of fasting, though important, do not convey the full measure of the practice. Jointed to

the practice should be a sincere desire for inner purification, readiness to obey the divine will and thoughtful solidarity with our brothers and sisters, especially the poor.”

St. John Paul II

The Food Pantry is in need of 100% juice. Thank you in advance.

“The Lord, your God, shall you worship and Him alone shall you serve.”

(St. Matthew 4:10)

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, The scripture passage above is taken from the gospel of this First Sunday in Lent. It is

a reminder of our duty and obligation to Almighty God.

The solemn season of Lent is a time for us to embark on a spiritual journey of our spiritual life. It calls for us to slow down, to reflect, and to put aside all the noise and activity that prevents us from focusing on our Christian life in Jesus Christ. We live in

a very active, noisy, and intense environment. Always running here and there. We think if we are not doing something, we are wasting time. The truth is, we are

deceiving ourselves. When we pause, reflect, and enter into a period of silence, we truly get in touch with our inmost selves. Maybe we are afraid to enter into the depths of

who we are. We should rather avoid the reality of our loves by the continuous activity and lack of quiet.

The Lord, Jesus Christ, invites us during this time to open our-selves to Him. To find in

Jesus, spiritual healing, peace, and refreshment. We deny ourselves spiritual growth and renewal if we do not make time to quiet down,

to pray, to place ourselves in the presence of Jesus, and to reflect on our lives. Everyone is able to set aside some time and place during each day to leave the hustle and

bustle of life and to enter into the desert of ourselves with Jesus Christ. We make time for so many things, why not the Lord, Jesus Christ, and our life of faith?

May this Holy season bear the fruit of a strengthening and renewal of our faith, hope and love, of our

Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

God Bless you and your loved ones.
