Dear Parent/Carer

Christ's School and other Richmond Borough Sixth Form Applications:

June 1st - November 22nd

From June 1st

students will be able to make their applications to Christs sixth form and all theRichmond Borough sixth forms including Richmond College. I went through this process with year 10

at a recent assembly so they should all understand when and how to apply.

Your son/daughter can submitone application to each sixth form. Each application should be

completed online on the Richmond Borough website

www.richmond.gov.uk/home/education_and_learning

I would stress that offers for places are not made on a first come, first served basis. It is also worth

noting that there is no need to rush into any application as the deadline is November 22 nd.

Over the next few months there will be a number of opportunities to help both you and your

son/daughter reach a decision. As you will see from the dates listed below, at Christ's we arerunning taster days, open evenings and individual career interviews from June through to October.

The information given at these events may affect student views and choices so your son/daughter

is likely to be in a better position to make a more informed decision on where to apply during the

autumn term. Students must however apply before November 22nd 2013.

There will be more information about the application process which is relevant to both students

and parents at our open evening on June 27th. In addition, on that evening you wil l get

comprehensive information on the content and structure of all the courses we will be running at

Christ's and also expert advice from university staff to help your son/daughter consider the best

combination of A levels for their future.

I would also like to add that the sixth form section of the website now has a very useful andinformative tab on subject choices and career pathways with a number of links to relevant sources

of advice for students and parents.
