    September was a busy and exciting month for Music Matters Inclusive Community Choir!

    We are learning some new songs, including Zip-a-Dee-Do-Dahfrom Disneys Song of theSouth, The Spanish Lady by The Dubliners, The Bare Necessitiesfrom The JungleBook, Ride On by Christy Moore and Angels by Robbie Williams

    The Secret Millionaire Party at The Church

    Music Matters Inclusive Community Choir, along with 3 other wonderful causes calledAoibheanns Pink Tie, Carman Hall Community Centre and Fathers Against Addicts were allselected to participate in an episode ofThe Secret Millionaire. This programme wasbroadcast on RTE1 on Monday 16th September. Margaret Farrelly, who is Managing Director ofClonarn Clover in Co Cavan, Irelands largest free-range eggs supplier, visited and made asubstantial donation to all of these groups.Our choir received a very welcome cheque worth 7,500!!

    On the night of the screening, we partied with family and friends at The Church Bar &Restaurant, Mary St, Dublin 1. We would especially like to thank Joyanne, for baking not justone but TWO deliciously moist chocolate cakes for the special occasion! We would alsolike to thank Rima Malukaite for taking these photographs as they show, everyone had afabulous time!

    We are looking for Choir Members and their Families to join our Steering Committee!This committee will have meetings in our new office (which will be up and running soon) and helpwith planning of rehearsals and eventsIf you are interested or would like more information, please ask Grinne

    Musical Memories Choirs for Older PeopleDun Laoghaire/ Rathdown County Council, HSE Arts and Health Partnership and the LivingWell with Dementia Stillorgan-Blackrock Project are piloting "Musical Memories", a new choralproject aimed at older people, especially people with dementia, their family members, friendsand carers.Both choirs, one in Deansgrange Library (Thursdays: 11.00 am- 12.30pm) and St RaphaelasConvent, Stillorgan (Saturdays: 11.00am 12.30pm) have been a resounding success so far!

    We need volunteers to help out with the project as support workers and other roles. If you are

    Canal Clean-Up Day

    Once a month, the Dublin City NorthVolunteer Centre organises a day forvolunteers to come along and clean-up anarea of the Royal Canal

    On Saturday 12th October, there will be acanal-clean up near Phibsborough

    Afterwards, (from around 12.30 PMonwards), there will be a Thank You andCelebration event at Hedigans Pub (TheBrian Boru) which is located nearby onProspect Road.

    Music Matters has been invited to sing at thisceremony and we will sing from 1.15 PMonwards. We are looking forward tosinging at this event and special thankyou to Dublin City North Volunteer Centrefor inviting us!

    Something Inside so Strong Concertwith Music Matters and Special Guests

    We are excited to announce details of ourupcoming Fundraiser Concert, which takesplace on Saturday 16th November in the AxisTheatre, Ballymun at 8.00 PM

    Our line-up includes: Mark Geary, Minnie &The Illywhackers, Ashley Tubridy, A FistFull ofOranges, Ossia Youth Choir and Jimi Cullen

    There will also be two rehearsals for peopleliving in the Ballymun area on Sunday 3rdNovember (adults only) and Sunday 10thNovember (children only)
