Chilli Con Carne
To prepare your chilli
1. Chop all of the vegetables into small chunks and mushrooms into quarters. 2. In a large saucepan fry off the onion in the oil until soft. 3. Add the minced beef and fry until brown. 4. Add the carrot, pepper, chopped chilli, garlic and chilli powder. 5. Pour in the tinned tomatoes and simmer. 6. Rinse the kidney beans (not if they are in a sauce). Then add to chilli. 7. Cook for 25 minutes then add quartered mushrooms and sweetcorn. Simmer for a further 15 minutes until
cooked.
Ingredients
500g minced beef 1 large onion 1 large carrot 1 red pepper 2 cloves of garlic 150g mushrooms 2 x 400g tins chopped tomatoes 1 tin of red kidney beans 1 small tin of sweetcorn 1 red chilli 1 tsp chilli powder Dash of oil
