The lack of alternate sources in our current society is absurd. With the easy and attainable resources to technology that is comfortably in our grasp, we neglect to focus on different and renewable resources. “The assertion that we have been held back by a lack of technological solutions is no more compelling.”(Klein, 2). Along with the misunderstanding of further searching for newer resources, our society has made climate change a fictional thing. While our country and the world suffer from its affect, we seem to be “reassured” that our comfortable living will remain the same, but in actuality, we are in detrimental danger. “It seems to me that if humans are capable of sacrificing this much collective benefit in the name of stabilishing an economic system that makes daily life so much more expensive and precarious, then surely humans should be capable of making some important lifestyle changes in the interest of stabilishing the physical systems upon which all of life depends.”(Klein, 3). Renewable sources are generally more expensive than non- renewable ones, but that is because the economy has not pursued it as a priority and made further research to make it more affordable for the average person.

Renewable sources are generally more expensive than non-renewable ones, but that is because the economy has not pursued it as a priority and made further research to make it more affordable for the average person. If our scientific community could be supported more instead looked upon as supporting a huge myth, our world could work together to pursue the reduction and even the end of global warming. With the amounts of non-renewable resources used daily for the past several centuries, our world’s weather patterns and system has rapidly changed drastically. It is creating a greenhouse effect on our world’s weather. “Even more directly, the policies that so successfully freed multinational corporations from virtually all constraints also contributed significantly to the underlying cause of global warming-rising greenhouse gas emissions.”(Klein, 4).

As humans, we have a duty to keep our world as it should so populations can replenish for further generations. If our society decides to not maintain the earth in a sustainable fashion, the future will not be very bright. Effects such as the current drought in California, and record snowfalls in the U.S. where there are normally warm climates are prime examples of global warming at its finest. Carbon Dioxide does not disappear. “Once carbon has been emitted into the atmosphere, it sticks around for hundreds of years, some of it even longer, trapping heat. The effects are cumulative, growing more severe with time.”(Klein, 5). America has decided to neglect cutting down non-renewable resources, and continuing to increase in industry. Our comfortable and affordable living takes precedence in our lives. “Climate change presents a profound challenge to this cautious centrism because half measures won’t cut it: “all of the above energy” program, as US president Barack Obama describes his approach, has about as much chance of success as an all-of-the-above diet, and the firm deadlines imposed by science require that we get very worked up indeed.” (Klein, 8).

It will take the world to decrease the amount of carbon usage, but it can be accomplished. “In other words, our problem has a lot less to do with the mechanics of solar power than the politics of human power-specifically whether there can be a shift in turn depends on whether or not the great many people who are getting a rotten deal under our current system can build a determined and diverse enough social fore to change the balance of

power.” (Klein, 9). Simply, in a better terms of words, our civilization and humankind as we know it must make it a priority to decrease our carbon usage, and invest our time, effort, and funding into renewable resources such as solar, wind, or water converted power. Certain efforts have been made, but not enough of an impact to progress the environment of the earth as a whole. It will take the entire human body to stand together to make an effort in the place that we call home which we so love dearly. In order for that to be possible, sadly, we must get rid of stubborn opinions and false facts, and hold true to what we know as factual evidence, and make history.
