C&G 2382-18 18TH EDITION ELECTRICAL WIRING REGULATIONS BS7671 (UPDATE COURSE) Description This qualification ensures that you are up-to-date with the latest industry regulation on wiring and the safe use and operation of electrical equipment and systems. It covers the current edition of the IET Wiring Regulations. These regulations are recognised by the British Standards Institute as a British Standard (BS7671). If you are a practising electrician, you must comply with the regulations for electrical work, this qualification is designed to provide those seeking progression in their career with the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to carry out job roles and responsibilities associated with the Electrotechnical industry. Course Duration 1 day. Location Afan College or Newtown College. Who Should Attend? The individual attending the course should be a qualified electrician or have another related Level 3 electrical qualification. Method of Assessment The course consists of classroom instruction and exercises with an open book multiple choice online assessment upon completion. All candidates must complete a 2 hour full exam in order to gain this qualification. Entry Requirements Those working within the electrotechnical industry who have recently completed their 17th edition Amendment 3: 2015 qualification i.e. City & Guilds 2382-15 or an equivalent. All candidates must purchase prior to the course, the following publication: Requirements for Electrical Installations, IET Wiring Regulations, Eighteenth Edition, BS 7671:2018. Course Content This course covers the following topics: Scope, object and fundamental principles Definitions Assessment of general characteristics Protection for safety Selection and erection of equipment Inspection and testing Special installations or locations Appendices Certification Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018.
