Ministry on the Margins...

Chaplains carry the love of Christ to people in places where the church is often unable to be present.

The CRC has about 120 chaplains serving in diverse settings such as:

-military bases

-hospitals

-hospice care centers

-counselling centers

-prisons

-retirement homes

-industry and business

-centers for developmentally disabled

Chaplains’ salaries, support and most benefits are paid by their employer and not by the church.

The Chaplain Development Fund helps pay to train future chaplains in pastoral care. Gifts are welcome.

About 40 chaplains are expected to retire in the next five years.

More than 300 CRC chaplains have served in specialized settings in the 60-year history of Chaplaincy Ministries.

The CRC’s ministry-share system is the foundation that supports much of the work we do together.

More than 85 cents of every dollar given to ministry shares goes directly to ministry programs.
