GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS CLASS OF 2014
Our Year 12 students have now finished formal classes. We have celebrated with them, formally gathered for the last time as a community at a College Assembly, enjoyed a breakfast dressed in costume and celebrated Mass at St Patrick’s Cathedral.
The Rites of Passage for the Class of 2014 saw some beautiful moments, recognition of those who have contributed and a hand over of leadership to the Class of 2015.
This issue features the events which now become the cherished memories. For some of our Year 12 students, their year has concluded. For others they commence the examination period very shortly. To those sitting exams, we maintain our prayerful support and which them every success.
I commend to you this special edition of the College newsletter dedicated to the Class of 2014.

Our Corpus Christi Award acknowledges the central place of the Eucharist in the life of our College community and so recognises a student who participates fully in the life of the Church through active involvement in its key rituals and contributions to living out Social Justice through ongoing participation in community service.
This award is about living out the teachings of Jesus Christ in our modern world.
Over the last two years they have given of their faith and talents to transform our College – one focusing on liturgy and prayer, the other on social justice and community service, but each supporting the other in the work they did.
It gives me great pleasure to announce that the recipients of the 2014 Corpus Christi Award are the College Liturgy and Social Justice Captains: Doreen Vella and Carla Santalucia.
The School Spirit Award is awarded with the following criteria in mind:
1. demonstrated leadership and dedication to his or her academic studies,
2. has participated in College events,
3. has shown positive support for their peers, and cooperated with all College policies.
This year’s recipient has been a model student whose contribution to the life of the College has been most considerable, especially through volunteering to help with College Masses, Cluster masses, Cluster activities and Faculty celebrations. Perhaps this student is best known for their extra curricular involvement. They are an eager member of the College choir, dedicated to rehearsals and making sure that they add to performances of a high standard.
Staff, when asked about this student, have commented on the joy they have had in sharing their educational journey with them. They speak of how delightful it has been watching this student blossom and grow, taking on challenges and flourishing throughout their time at Catholic Regional College Sydenham.
It is with great pleasure that I announce that the 2014 recipient of the School Spirit Award is Luke Degiorgio.
