CRC is part of Federation of 5 colleges – Yr 7-10 Melton, St.Albans, Nth Keilor, Caroline Springs,-&
Yr 11-12 at Sydenham.
We have a culturally diverse group - 61% of non-English speaking backgrounds which comprise of Filipino, Maltese, Croatian, Italian, Vietnamese, Spanish, Polish, and Sudanese.Their financial struggle impacts on their educational needs.

Our Current student population at Sydenham is 787. Our yearly retention rate is very good with a loss of 20-30 students per year. Those of which will choose to take up other options like

Catholic Regional College has recognized, - if students choose further education or defer their
educational choices they must be equipped with skills for employment after year 12 so that the transition from school to work can be made easier.
Offering them Employment skills and knowledge of the work force allows them to be competitive in the work place which empowers the individual.

GETTNG STUDENTS READY FOR WORK PLACEMENT / WORK EXPERIENCE
Application form – students fill in a application form which mirrors the questions asked by the “WORK EXPO PROGRAM”
OH&S Test to be done by the student individually, and evidence to be supplied.
Information by Work Safe Victoria on Bullying and Harassment in the work place provided.
Equal Opportunity Legislation information provided to student.
If the student wishes to find their own employer, they are is encouraged to do so, and supported with a letter of introduction which is provided by the school.
Student submits documentation to the industry co-ordinator, and then is processed.

THE STUDENT WORK PLACE PACKAt C.R.C. Sydenham the student receives a work place pack which provided the student with information to assist them with the work placement and work experience process whilst they are at work, the industry placement co-ordinator takes them through this journey and explains what is required of them.

INDUSTRY CO-ORDNATOR LIAISON TASKSCONTACTING THE EMPLOYER – making courtesy call to the employer on the students first day.
REMEMBER: to ask if the student arrived o.k.
ARRANGE AN APPOINTMENT TIME: to either evaluate the students performance or to make a criteria assessment based on course criteria.
