Let us pray: joining our bishop in pray & fasting

LET US PRAY is a spiritual initiative for prayer and Adoration to combat the COVID-19 virus and to prepare ourselves for upcoming moments of decision in our communities and country.

Beginning on the Feast of the Exaltation of the cross, Monday, September 14th, the 40 days of prayer will conclude on October 23rd with a Closing Mass on the Feast of San Juan Capistrano, live-streamed from our Cathedral.

During the month of September and October, the following prayer will be said at all public Masses, up to and including Friday, October 23rd.

Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, Queen of the Angels and Mother of the Americas. We fly to you today as your beloved children. We ask you to intercede for us with your Son, as you did at the wedding in Cana. Pray for us, loving Mother, and gain for our nation and worls, and for all our families and loved ones, the protection of your holy angels, that we may be spared the worst of this illness. For those already afflicted, we ask you to obtain the grace of healing and deliverance.

Hear the cries of those who are vulnerable and fearful, wipe away their tears and help them to trust. In this time of trial and testing, teach all of us in the Church to love one another and to be patient and kind. Help us to bring the peace of Jesus to our land and to our hearts. We come to you with confidence, knowing that you truly are our compassionate mother, health of the sick and cause of our joy. Shelter us under the mantle of your protection, keep us in the embrace of your arms, help us always to know the love of your Son, Jesus. Amen.

40 days for life

40 Days for Life is an internationally coordinated 40-Day campaign that aims to end abortion locally through prayer and fasting, community outreach and a peaceful all-day vigil in front of Planned Parenthood.

Right to Life of Central California has been actively involved in this ministry for many years. However, for the 40 Days for Life fall campaign, COVID-19 is restricting their ability to host volunteers at their Outreach Center located next to Planned Parenthood. Therefore, they are encouraging supporters to choose the following:

•Register for the online campaign of prayer to end abortion. The director will send out daily emails to encourage and support everyone during their prayer vigils. You will be able to pray from home and still support the campaign. Visit: RTLCC.org/40Days.

•However, if you have a small group that would like to pray at the Outreach Center, please call 559/229-2229. Please note that space is limited and access to the Outreach Center is restricted.

Congratulations Deacon Pete on the Anniversary of your Deaconate Ordination!

The Catholic Professional & Business Club

The Catholic Professional & Business Club is conducting their annual membership drive… a little differently this year...as with most things.

They will not be able to join you after Mass, however, want to extend an invitation to those of you who are interested in being motivated through inspirational speakers (right now via Zoom-hopefully soon in person) networking with a community of professionals, receiving ethical confirmations, and associating with like-minded Catholics in the business world, to become a member of CP & BC.

HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER?

Log onto cpbcfresno.org and click the “Membership” tab.
