Cathedral News

We welcome all visitors to the Cathedral of St.

John the Baptist. Docents are available for a

tour of our Cathedral following the 5:30 pm

Saturday Vigil Mass and the 9:00 & 11:15 am

Masses. If you are interested in a tour, please

wait next to the Pulpit after Mass.

Fellowship Breakfast! This Sunday! Join us

for good food and company

at the next Fellowship Break-

fast in the Cathedral Center

Hall following the 9:00 am

Mass. The breakfast is spon-

sored by the Men’s

Bible Study.

Mothers’ Day Envelopes: Please fill out your

Mothers’ Day Envelopes and return them to

the Parish Office via the collection basket or

drop off by Friday 29 April. The envelopes will

be placed on the altar and your intentions for

your loved ones will be offered. Mothers’ Day

is Sunday, 8 May.

Police Appreciation Prayer Service,

Wednesday, 4 May at the Cathedral 9:00 am:

Law Enforcement, their families, the

community and clergy are invited to spend an

hour in prayer with our local law enforcement

and show appreciation for their dedication,

sacrifice and service. Organized by the

Charleston Illumination Project.

Traditional Latin Mass at St. Mary’s: St. Mary of

the Annunciation has a First Saturday Traditional

Latin Mass. It is a Missa Cantata or sung Mass in

the Extraordinary Form or according to the Missal

of Pope John XXIII. The next Traditional Latin

Mass will be on 7 May 2016.

PT Secretary: The Cathedral of St. John the

Baptist is seeking a Part Time Morning Secretary to

answer and route incoming calls and aid in clerical

work. Applicants should be Catholic, people

oriented, have excellent communication skills,

friendly phone presence and knowledge and love

of their Catholic faith. Must have proficiency in

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Publisher) and

Adobe InDesign. Ability to learn simple website

updating a plus. Interested applicants should

Sacrament Church on Friday, 29 April from 6:30-

flection on “The Gift of Lay Association for

our World: Responding to Our Baptismal

The CCS 25th Year Anniversary Gala and Auction

will be held Friday, April 29; from 6-10pm at the

Cedar Room at the Cigar Factory. Tickets are $75 per

The Upper School students would like to thank

Bishop Guglielmone and Chef Don and his wonderful

staff for a fabulous Cotillion! The students loved

being guests at the Diocese of Charleston Pastoral

Center. A great time was had by all!

Sacrament of Marriage

Either the bride or the groom must

be a practicing Catholic and

registered at the Cathedral for at

least twelve months before

scheduling a wedding date and

beginning the six month marriage

preparation. The bride/groom must

be an active parishioner, regularly

attending Mass on Sundays and

Holy Days of Obligation, and use of

the envelope system in support of

the parish. The Wedding Policy

Booklet may be found on the

Cathedral Website.

available to our active members. This

parishioner status in parochial

Being properly registered in the

parish for a sufficient period of

time.

Faithful attendance at Mass on

Sundays and Holy Days.

Use of the envelope system in

support of the parish.

Being active in at least one parish

program, ministry or

organization.
