ANNUAL DIOCESAN APPEAL 2015
“Called to Do God’s Work, Together in Christ”
Our Cathedral parishioners’ support of the Annual Diocesan
Appeal has proven to be enthusiastic over the past years. As
Catholics, willingness to share our blessings with others is
highly valued. All the faithful of our Diocese of San Jose benefit
from its programs and services. These include catechetical
training, the Institute for Leadership Ministry, seminary
education, ministry to the incarcerated, youth and young adult
programs and administrative support for each parish. The cost
for the operation of each of these programs and services – and
much more – is covered by funds raised during this campaign.
Your dollars at work every day! The Cathedral 2015 goal is
$133,104. This will be our parish contribution, which along
with the other parishes in our diocese can make the 2015
campaign as successful as ever before. Please give some
prayerful thought to being a part of the success.

2015 FLU/COLD SEASON
LITURGICAL ADAPTATIONS It has been necessary to implement precautionary
measures in the celebration of Mass throughout the
Diocese of San José in order to promote the health of
our worshipping communities. For the duration of
the flu/cold/virus season until conditions improve:
1. Holy Communion will not be shared under the
form of Consecrated Wine.
2. Holy Communion will be distributed only into
the hands of communicants - not on the tongue.
3. People should not hold hands during the Lord’s
Prayer.
4. The Sign of Peace should be a greeting that does
not involve shaking hands or touching.
Please know that the obligation to participate in
Sunday Mass does not hold for those who are
seriously ill and it would be prudent for anyone with
fever, cough or other such symptoms to remain
home. These adaptations remain in effect until
Public Health has deemed it safe to rescind them.
THANK YOU.
