CASTROL MOLUB-ALLOY 6780HIGH PERFORMANCE IN VENTMETER AND TORQUE TESTS
THE RESULTS: IN COLD CONDITIONS LESS TORQUE IS REQUIRED BOTH ON START-UP AND DURING NORMAL RUNNINGStart Up: Castrol Molub-Alloy 6780 requires just of the key competitors torque.*
After Running: After 1 hour of running, Castrol Molub-Alloy 6780 only requires 1/6 of the key competitors torque to keep running.*
The Benefi ts: Less torque will reduce the power required to move the bearings, and will reduce the chance of damage to the bearings.
In cold temperatures more torque is required to start the bearing and keep it running. With high levels of torque there is a signifi cant risk of bearing failure. With much less torque there is greater bearing protection and there is the real opportunity to reduce energy costs as the energy required to use the bearing is much less.
*Independent testing performed by Petro-Lubricant testing laboratories, Inc. New Jersey, USA. Test method covers the determination of the extent to which a grease retards the rotation of a slow speed ball bearing by measuring starting and running torques at low temperatures (below 0F / -18C). A bearing is packed completely full of the test grease. The bearing remains stationary while ambient temperature is lowered to the test temperature and held there for 2 hours. At the end of this time, the inner ring of the ball bearing is rotated while the restraining force on the outer ring is measured.

The Ventmeter test is a rapid means for determining the pumpability of a grease in a supply line at a prescribed temperature. The test lubricant is pumped into the ventmeter by a lever gun until the pressure has developed to 1800 PSI. The pressure is then vented and the venting rate timed. The pressure on
