    Instruction

Ribbed Cuff: with MC, and size 1 needles, CO 54, PM and join in the round.

[k1, p1] to the end of the round. Repeat this row until the cuff measures 1.5 inches.

Switch to size 2 needles and knit two rounds plain.

Right Hand: begin working charts by starting with the Front, then the Gusset, and then the Back of the mitten. PMs between these 3 charts.

Left Hand: begin working charts by starting with the Front, then the Back, then the Gusset. PMs between these 3 charts.

For both left and right hand, once you have completed row 22, transfer the gusset sts onto scrap yarn and join the front and back in the round and continue knitting from these two charts until the end.

Place the last 9 sts of the front on one needle and the last 9 sts of the back on another needle. Join these with kitchener sts, pulling the tail to the inside of the mitten at the end.

Thumb for both left and right mitten: place the 21 sts onto the size 2 dpns. Using MC and working right to left, pick up 3 sts from the space where the join was made in the mitten. (These are marked with a P on the thumb chart.) Continue working line 1 of the Thumb chart, PM and join in the round. Work the rest of the Thumb chart. After completing line 13, knit 4 more plain rounds.

Decrease of thumb: [k2tog,k1] 8 times

    k1, [k2tog, k1] to end

    [k2tog] 5 times, k1

Cut a tail, put it on a yarn needle, pull the yarn through the last 6 sts and pull yarn to the inside of the thumb.

Once you have completed both the right and the left mitten, weave in all the ends and block.

Tip: Always carry floats if one color in the pattern goes for more than 4 stitches.
