It seems like we blink and summer is gone! What an incredible summer it has been. Our student ministry hit the ground running this summer by leaving for High School summer camp just a couple days after graduation. We went to Student Life Camp at Covenant College in Tennessee. God did great things in the lives of our High School students while at camp! We returned home for a day and then left for Camp Anderson (in Old Town, FL) with our Middle

School group. We saw God move in great ways through the incredible number of salvations at this camp! Our Middle Schoolers grew as a group during camp but more importantly were challenged through God’s Word everyday! We returned with just enough time to set up our rooms for VBS which was great as always. I am very proud of our students serving in our VBS, every year and doing so with maturity and integrity!

That's not all though! This year we took High School Juniors and Seniors to be staffers at our own church’s Kid’s Camp. It was an awesome experience being behind the scenes of a camp like Student Life for Kids. We put in a LOT of work but our students did a great job with everything they were asked to do and we look forward to doing it again in the future! We returned with a couple days to spare before leaving for FCA camp with our Baker Gators football team where we saw 6 decisions for Christ on our team alone! We praise God for an amazing and busy summer, but its not over yet. We still have more coming up in the days ahead so keep us in your prayers as we finish this summer strong!

August 3rd-5th For 9th-12th Grade Boys

When does a boy become a man? Is it when he can vote? When he has facial hair? When he gets married or has kids? Or is manhood something that can be taught? These few days we will be doing some primitive camping at night and completing some tough challenges during the day. Most importantly, we will be searching God’s Word on what true manhood is. Jesus spent 33 years on this earth being an example on how to be true men. We will explore basic foundations of authentic manhood, God’s clear design for men, and discover a clear definition of Authentic Manhood.

This is not a trip for the weak. There will not be tents or food. Students can bring nothing with them. Students won’t even know where they are. Survival tools will be earned as challenges are completed. We will pull out of the church Thursday at 6:00 p.m. We will return to the church Saturday at whatever time they complete their last challenge. This will not be easy! Some won’t be fun! Some may make you want to quit! But those who finish will find out what true Manhood is! So….. Do you have what it takes to be a Man? We will find out!

Sixth - eighth graders are invited to join us for a Middle School Lock-In after the Kick Off Classic game. The game will be at Baker High School football field on Friday, August 18th. After the game, we will meet at the church for the lock-in. All students will need to be picked up by 8:00 a.m. the following morning.

All children K– 5th grade, join us in children's church! We are

focusing on The Gospel Project.

I want to say a big “thank you” to my PRBC church family for the surprise birthday party. As several folks said to me "you only turn 40 once". While that is true there is no one else I would rather celebrate with than my church family. From the bottom of my heart thank you for the cards, gifts, and being part of the celebration. -Pastor Geoff

Children are invited to join us for a Back to School Party on Wednesday, August 9th here at PRBC. If you have any questions please see Bro. Michael.

We will have a Brunch in September and another Luncheon in October. If you have any questions, please see Bro. Darren. We hope to see you there!

Pilgrim’s Progress — August 2017

Ladies, our next Stampin’ Up meeting

will be Monday, August 14th at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Live Oak & Pilgrim Rest Churches are holding a fundraiser to help raise money for Connect Church (a new church plant in Crestview). We are preselling Boston Butts for $35. The fundraiser is on Saturday, August 26th. If you would like a Boston Butt you must prepay. Please stop by the Welcome Desk after the 11 o’clock service or come to the church office. All orders need to be picked up after 2:00 p.m. but before 6:00 p.m. at PRBC fellowship Hall. We are also in need of volunteers for the 26th. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up on the paper in the foyer.

We, Brandon & Holly Ellis, are excited to be getting ready to launch our ministry with Connect Church! But we can’t do that without YOU! We will always need prayer but now we are in need of a Core Team to make this launch as successful as possible! Below we have listed the possible areas with which we will need help. If you feel God leading you to join with us in His church even if it is short term then we would love to talk to you more! We will be hosting a dinner for all who want to learn more about how they can fill one of these crucial roles!

Core Team Needs: Worship Leader

Connect Group Leaders (couples and individuals) Children’s Leader

Hospitality/Greeter Leader

The dinner mentioned above is on Thursday, August 3rd at 6:00 p.m. at 2753 Savannah Lane in Crestview. Bring a side dish or dessert to share and hamburgers and hotdogs will be provided. RSVP to Holly at 385-239-3576 so they can get an idea of how many will be joining!
