Pine Hill, Sept. 23.—Mrs. Rose Nussbaum of Kingston, operator of the Bonnie View hotel for many years, died last week Wednesday in Kingston hospital following a long illness. Her funeral vras held Thursday morning a t the Simpson funeral home in' Kingston.
Mrs. Nussibaum is survived by two sons, Harry and Ira Nussbaum, her mother, Mrs. Jennie Silverberg, a brother, George Silverberg, and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Schwartz, all of Kingston.
She was married to Oscar Nussbau mof Pine Hill April 3, 1947, and they owned and operated the hotel for many years. Mr. Nussbaum died in April, 1961.
at 11 a.m. and continues until dusk, and will be held a t the fish and game hall on route 28.

held a cookout a t their home in Fox hollow Sunday afternoon in honor of the sixth birthday of their daughter, Mary.
Kimberley Anne dcker, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ocker 3d, was christened Sept. 19 a t the McKownville United Methodist church. Mr. and Mrs. Brian Kelly of Schenectady were godparents for their niece. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ocker Jr. of Allaben, paternal grandparents, attended. After the christening, a buffet luncheon for 25 was served.
Fred Ashley of Saugerties visited his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Platt, last week Sunday afternoon.
Miss Jean Harvey of Kingston was a dinner guest Saturday evening a t the home of Mrs. Thomas W. Meredith.
Frankie Nazzaro celebrated his birthday with a party a t his home on Saturday after- - noon. Several of his classmates and friends attended.

Phoenicia, Sept. 30.—William McCarthy of Phoenicia was honored by his fellow New York Daily News employes when he retired this month as News editor after 28 years of service with the paper.
A special press run of the Sept. 16 edition of The News featured front and back page photos of Mr. McCarthy, and the entire centerfold was devoted to his career, plus a little himior from the editorial staff which contended with him for many years.

Phoenicia, Sept. 30.—Deputy Sheriff Tommy Sickler and Constable Bill Jansen were called to the White Front restaurant Friday night on the complaint of the operaotr, Mrs. Ann Venezila.. They arrested Fred Lane, 22, of Mount Trem- per on a charge of disorderly conduct and arraigned him before Town Justice George Kirk. Lane was released on $50 bail pending a later appearance. Mrs. Venezila told the officers that she had refused to serve Lane because of intoxication, whereupon he became abusive, threatening bodily harm and using foul language.

A picnic lunch was held a t the top of the mountain. After the skyride, the party returned to the Vanni home for ice cream and cake. The town of Shandaken planning board has had several hundred copies of the tabulation of its Shandaken public opinion survey reprinted. Cost of the reprinting was undertaken by a priviate citizen. Copies are available a t 10 cents each from any member of the planning board, but they m ust be picked up in person.

The community gave a combined housewarming and retirement party for Mr. and Mrs. Fred Becker Wednesday evening a t the Stony Clove Inn. Hostesses were Mrs. Herman Quick of Chichester, Mrs. Edward Haenlein, Mrs. Michael Fitzpatrick and Mrs. Babe Sem- tofa. The Beckers have recently sold their general store and moved to their new mobile hMne here. Mr. Becker has retired as postmaster.

Phoenicia, Sept. 30.—"rae Onteora Indian gridders won their second straight Saturday afternoon, downing Wallkill, 26- 14, a t Wallkill. The Indians go undefeated into their encounter against Red Hook on the Boiceville field Saturday afternoon.
The Wallkill contest was highlighted by Fullback Joe Phelan’s 57-yard touchdown run in the second period. Phelan galloped for 100 of the 254 yards gained on the ground by the Indians.
Onteora took a first-period lead, which was never relinquished. Both teams scored two touchdowns in the second period, and Onteora pushed another across in the third, following Center Mark Gallagher’s recovery of a Wallkill fumble.
The Indians were frustrated by a stubborn Wallkill defense in the final quarter when they were unable to push across from a first down on the one- yard line.

George M. Rowland, 83, a retired engineer who had lived in Big Indian for the last two years, died Sunday in Concord, Mass., where he had been taken after becoming ill here.
His funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the Bedford funeral home in Bedford, Mass. Rev. Harry E. Haines Jr., pastor of the F irst Church of Christ Congregation a t Bedford, led the funeral service. After cremation, burial will be made a t Oliverea.
Mr. Rowland is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helena Gossoo Rowland, a son, George E. Rowland of Lansing, Mich., a daughter, Mrs. Margaret R. Talkington of Bedford, six grandchildren aiwi one great grandchild.
He was a native of New York city, bom Jan. 16, 1888, to George M. and Johanna Welsh Rowland. He was a retired engineer with the Inland division of General Motors in Dayton,

was a 50-year member I of the Akron, Ohio, Masonic lodge and a member of Grace Methodist church in Dayton.

Kindergarten classes for both morning and afternoon sessions will attend the morning session.
