Arp, Troup and others…. Consortium schools, Arp and Troup met with other small districts in their area to discuss what each district was offering, possible areas of endorsements and the possibility of combining efforts in the future. The goal is to partner with each other to offer more for students than each district could alone. Dr. Katie Preast, Executive Director for Curriculum and Instruction from Troup organized and led the meeting! VERY PROACTIVE! Union Grove: Greg Park, UG High School teacher is one of five finalists in the state for an award that could earn the school district $20,000 worth of technology!! Mr. Park is a contender for Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow contest, which was established to raise interest and awareness in STEM programs! WAY TO GO MR. PARK!!! In other UG news, four students were selected to participate in NASA’s Aerospace Scholars Program. NASA engineers accepted the Goddard Rocket Blueprint, Design and simulated flight plan and the UG students’ 20-foot rocket is headed to SPACE in New Mexico!! OUT OF THIS WORLD UG!!! The UG Accounting Team students went to the State Competition and were the state runner up!! KUDOS to the UG students!

All of his children graduated from Troup and his grandchildren attend Troup schools. Mr. Lindsey was Troup High School Teacher of the Year last year, which was a great honor, but he feels his greatest accomplishment is seeing the light come on for students. “They begin to see their potential and believe they can accomplish their goals and be something.” Troup’s Ag program offers Principles of Agriculture, Floral Design, Horticulture, Livestock Production, Wildlife, Small Animal Management, Ag Mechanics, Welding, and Facilities Design.
