Richard LuschekNovember 18, 2016Our guest speaker will be Richard Luschek, a very popular Cincinnati artist. He believes his job as a painter is more than just reproducing objects on canvas. The painter should aim for something

elevated and finer; nature observed through a nobler temperament. Richard is fascinated by effects of light, atmosphere, color, and tonal beauty. Even though these techniques are old, he will use these skills to create pictures relevant for today’s audience infusing them with a narrative and wit that adds to the arrangements he paints. Come see Richard in action! “Interested students are not required to draw a turtle in a hat to be accepted but feel free to draw one on your check .”

To paraphrase Eugene Levy’s inimitable character in the movie Splash, “What a month we’re having!” In the movie, that declaration punctuated a series of calamities. For the Club, it’s to proclaim we’ve had a really great month.

On October 4th, Judge Charles J. Kubicki, Jr. ordered The Cincinnati Public Schools Board of Education to convey to the Club the adjacent vacant lot within 30 days. A loan for the purchase has been approved. As of this writing, a call confirming the closing date is imminent.

Also this month, our Associate Members submitted some wonderful artwork for exhibition. Their efforts show that the Club can look forward to many strong shows to come and a steady stream of Associates advancing to Signature status.

Terry Muira’s workshop was sold out and for good reason. He’s insightful, inspiring, and instructive. Eileen McConkey has been bringing us world class workshop providers.
