Guidelines for the authors
1. Deadline for responding to the Call for Papers: March 10th, 2014. Please fill out the Call for
Papers form and return it to Carole Lecointre, WAZA Executive Office, IUCN Conservation Centre, Rue Mauverney 28, CH-1196 Gland, Switzerland or by e-mail: [email protected] . You will be contacted before March 31st to inform you if your proposal is selected.
2. Submit an abstract of not more than 100 words to Carole Lecointre by email: [email protected]. Deadline for submission of the abstract: March 10th, 2014. The Powerpoint presentation
should be brought on a CD or USB flash drive for the conference or sent in by e-mail by May 8th ,2014.
3. The presentations are expected to be original and about 20 minutes long followed by a 10-
minutes questions & answers period. We suggest that it be written in a font supported by Microsoft Office (ex: Arial, Times New Roman, Tahoma, etc.). Please note that there will be no simultaneous translation of the presentations.
4. The title of the presentation should be kept short, preferably about 15 words, and if the name of a
species is given, the common name should immediately be followed by the scientific name written on a separate line. Where appropriate, the name of the institution where the data for the article were collected should be given. The title should be written in bold characters. Under the title the names of the author(s), his/her title and the institution’s name are given.
5. A 50 word biography is required from each invited presenter to facilitate his/her introduction.
Deadline for submission: April 30th 2014. 6. Genus and species names: Print in italics or underline. Genus names should appear in full the
first time mentioned in a given paragraph. 7. Weights and measures should be given using the metric system and the International System of
Units (SI) where appropriate.Temperatures should be given in degrees Celsius. 8. We reserve the right to convert two or more individual presentations on similar topics into a panel
discussion with one open question period
