Catalog-Based DesignThe catalog component librariesprovided with
MPDS4 ELECTRICALDESIGN help you cut down on errors,allowing you to
quickly andconsistently design complete cablingsystems based on
company-specificstandards.
The catalogs contain many differenttypes of electrical and
control systems,as well as cable trays, cable ducts,cables and bus
bars. They are userextensible and customisable, with acentral
database ensuring consistentdelivery of up-to-date catalog data
toyour design teams.
Routing CablesMPDS4 ELECTRICAL DESIGN allowsyou to manually or
automaticallyroute cables of the right specificationin the cable
trays created. You canalso route exposed cables betweencable trays
and connection points oncomponents in your plant. Therequired
lengths of cable can then beexported to your parts list.
Auto RoutingMPDS4 ELECTRIC DESIGN allows youto automate
time-consuming cablerouting tasks using the auto routingtool
provided. The tool automatically
looks for the shortest route betweenthe desired beginning and
end pointof a cable in the appropriate system.
Power Rating AnalysisUse MPDS4 ELECTRICAL DESIGN toadd a KVA
(kilo volt-ampere) rating toselected components. This allows youto
analyse the required power ratingof an entire network of
connectedinstances and cables.
Hard and SoftInterference CheckingInterference checking
functionalityprovides users with a quick overview ofoverlapping
components. Hardinterference checking flags up overlapsbetween
selected areas andcomponents, while soft interferencechecking flags
up insufficient spacebetween individual components.
Automatic Parts List Creation andERP System
IntegrationAutomatically created parts lists can be
exported (to CSV, for example) to gaina quick overview of an
entire project.The software can be integrated withyour ERP system,
allowing additionalinformation, such as component costor weight, to
