Eucharistic Adoration/Healing Service: Bring a friend and join us Tuesday, July 5th at 7 pm for an hour of quiet prayer and adoration before the Blessed Sacrament. We extend a special invitation to those in need of the healing strength of the Holy
Spirit. Families are encouraged to come as a group to pray for their loved ones. “Where three or more are gathered in my name,
there am I with them” Matthew 18:20.
July 3, 2016
Dear Parishioners,
Our Sacred Scriptures today remind us to boast of nothing but the cross of
Jesus Christ. Through it His grace and power are made known to His servants.
Tremendous deeds shall be performed in His name: The reign of God is
proclaimed; Peace is given as a gift; and the forces of sin are overcome. Sharing
in the Holy Cross is freedom to all who accept Jesus as Savior and Lord!
This weekend, we conclude the Fortnight for Freedom:
Grant, we pray, O heavenly Father, a clear and united voice to all your sons
and daughters gathered in your Church in this decisive hour in the history of
our nation, so that, with every trial withstood and every danger overcome—for
the sake of our children, our grandchildren, and all who come after us—this
great land will always be “one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and
justice for all.”
Happy and Blessed 4th of July!!
Blessings upon you,
Fr. Gabriel
Vocations Corner—July 3, 2016
The Vocations Committee invites you to pray for Vocations,
especially those to Priesthood or Religious Life! Seeing God at work
One evening last summer, I was taking with a fellow adorer, who had come
out from the adoration chapel at the Power of Prayer. As we were chatting she
suddenly got a look of delight on her face and she excitedly exclaimed “Look!”
as she pointed behind me. I turned around and said “What? All I see is a few
lightning bugs.” She said “Exactly! Aren’t they magical?” For a moment I was
confused at how she was so excited about these little bugs, but she quickly
explained that in the state where she grew up, they didn’t have lightning bugs.
For this reason, they were something new and exciting. I thought about this
for a moment and had two thoughts. The first was that she was right, light-
ning bugs actually are a pretty incredible work of creation on God’s part. The
second idea was, that sometimes when we’ve grown up with God all around
us, that it takes a little effort or even an unexpected reminder to see His work
in the midst of our lives. Sometimes people will say that they want to do
God’s Will or that they are open to following God’s call for them, but God
never seems to speak and reveal His will to them. In response to that I would
ask: “Have you tried listening to Him in the little things?” Just like I missed
God’s hand at work in the lightning bugs and needed a reminder, let this re-
flection serve as a reminder to you to seek God in the midst of the ordinary
day to day things that are and have always been around you!
