Memorial Day Service at Evergreen Cemetery: A Memorial Day Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 25th at Evergreen Ceme-tery, Commonwealth Avenue, Brighton to remember all veter-ans, especially the men and women from Allston and
Brighton, who made the supreme sacrifice in the ser-vice of our country. Prayers will also be offered for those currently serving overseas, for their safety and safe return. Father Robert L. Keane, SJ, Captain Chaplain Corps U. S. Navy (Ret.) and current rector of the Jesuit community at Boston College will be presiding. YAC Spring Bible Study
and Apologetics Series Do you wish to grow deeper in your knowledge of our faith? Come join fellow young adults in their 20s and 30s as we explore the teach-
ings of our Catholic faith and their foundations in Scripture and Tradition. Based on the success of our Advent and Lenten Bible study series, we will be host-ing another six-week series which will meet Wednes-days at 8 p.m. in the Lower Church. The dates of the series are 5/13, 5/20, 5/27, 6/3, 6/10 and 6/17; each ses-sion will meet for an hour. Our third session is titled "Are You 'Saved'?" and will be hosted by Daniel Ora-zio. Mary Ward Boyle Scholarship: Mary Boyle, a grad-uate of St. Columbkille High School Class of 1957, served for 14 years as secretary of the Grammar school as well as crossing guard, fill in nurse and mother when a child needed comfort. For these reasons there is a scholarship fund set up in her name to help children at St. Columbkille School. Y es una lla-mada a abrir los corazones ante las muchas inspiraciones y luces que el Espíritu Santo no deja de susurrar, de gritar. Porque es Dios, porque es Amor, nos enseña a perdonar, a amar, a difundir el amor. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Noticias: El grupo de jóvenes de nuestra parroquia se está re-uniendo ahora a las 3 pm en la Iglesia de abajo. Que ningún joven se quede sin participar en algo, sino la fe no se va a fortalecer. Están todos invitados.

la tarde tenemos la exposición al Santísimo y posteri-
ormente la Misa, a las 7pm. Durante la exposición, tendremos oportunidad para la confesión. Todos están invitados a aprovechar esta fuente de bendición. Que nadie se quede sin confesar
Les quiero recordar que si tienen una intención de Misa hay que pasar por la rectoría. No de-ben de entregar ninguna intención al sacerdote en la sa-cristía si no es una urgencia. Estamos todavía invitando a todos a que participen en
las clases de Biblia y Dogma. La clase de Dogma se da los lunes a las 7 y la de Biblia se da los jueves a las 7pm tambien. Los que pueden venir, hagan el esfuerzo. No es tarde porque cada lunes tocamos un punto diferente. Ahora estamos reflexionando sobre los sacramentos. La Iglesia nos dice que Jesús instituyó los sacramentos pero hay buscar donde se dice en la Biblia. Aquí te ayudamos a encontrar los pasajes donde se encuentra. Están todos invitados porque tenemos que conocer nuestra fe porque sin ella no hay vida eterna. La clase de Biblia es mas interesante ahora porque es un Jesuita hispano que lo esta dando y está muy bien preparado para dar clases. Vengan todos por favor. Hay que sacrificarse por conocer nuestra religion. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

PENTECOSTES La palabra Pentecostés viene del griego y significa el día quincuagésimo, es decir el 50. Y ese día se cumplen 50 días después de la Pascua es decir después del Domingo de Re-surrección. Así pues en el domingo de Pentecostés se pone fin al tiempo pascual. En la Creación del mundo, el Espíritu cubría las aguas, “trabajaba” para suscitar la vida. En la historia del hombre, el Espíritu preparaba y enviaba mensajeros, patriarcas, profetas, hombres justos, que indica-ban el camino de la justicia, de la verdad, de la belleza, del bien. En la plenitud de los tiempos, el Espíritu descendió sobre la Virgen María, y el Verbo se hizo Hombre. En el inicio de su vida pública, el Espíritu se manifestó so-bre Cristo en el Jordán, y nos indicó ya presente al Mesías. Ese Espíritu descendió sobre los creyentes la mañana de Pentecostés. Mientras estaban reunidos en oración, junto a la Madre de Jesús, la Promesa, el Abogado, el que Jesús pro-metió a sus discípulos en la Última Cena, irrumpió y se posó sobre cada uno de los discípulos en forma de lenguas de fue-go (cf. Hch 2,1-13). Desde ese momento empieza a existir la Iglesia. Por eso es fiesta grande, es nuestro “cumpleaños”. Lo explicaba san Ireneo (siglo II) con estas hermosas pala-bras: “Donde está la Iglesia, allí está el Espíritu de Dios, y donde está el Espíritu de Dios, allí está la Iglesia y toda gra-cia, y el Espíritu es la verdad; alejarse de la Iglesia significa rechazar al Espíritu (...) excluirse de la vida” (Adversus hae-reses III,24,1). Con el Espíritu Santo tenemos el espíritu de Jesús y entra-mos en el mundo del amor. Gracias al Espíritu Santo cada bautizado es transformado en lo más profundo de su cora-zón, es enriquecido con una fuerza especial en el sacramento de la Confirmación, empieza a formar parte del mundo de Dios. Benedicto XVI explicaba como en Pentecostés ocurrió algo totalmente opuesto a lo que había sucedido en Babel (Gen 11,1-9). En aquel oscuro momento del pasado, el egoísmo humano buscó caminos para llegar al cielo y cayó en divi-siones profundas, en anarquías y odios. El día de Pentecos-tés fue, precisamente, lo contrario. “El orgullo y el egoísmo del hombre siempre crean divisio-nes, levantan muros de indiferencia, de odio y de violencia. El Espíritu Santo, por el contrario, capacita a los corazones para comprender las lenguas de todos, porque reconstruye el puente de la auténtica comunicación entre la tierra y el cielo. El Espíritu Santo es el Amor” (Benedicto XVI, homilía del 4 de junio de 2006). Por eso mismo Pentecostés es el día que confirma la voca-ción misionera de la Iglesia: los Apóstoles empiezan a predi-car, a difundir la gran noticia, el Evangelio, que invita a la salvación a los hombres de todos los pueblos y de todas las épocas de la historia, desde el perdón de los pecados y desde
