Mind yourself...MINDFULNESS,
a form ofself-awarenesstraining adaptedfromBuddhistmeditationis describedas a mental state achieved byfocusing one’s awareness on thepresent moment.
It’s a word that is usedincreasingly at conferences
and meetings by motivationalspeakers.
I get a regular mindfulnessreminder from Tom at TheStillness Project whose latestmissive talks of a womanMelissa Ambrosini who runs aBusiness Bootcamp, also run onmindfulness principles.
Then there’s Peter Bliss whosecompany Business is Bliss hasbeen running workshops andteaching about the power ofmindfulness and meditation tothe corporate world for manyyears.
Illustrating that mindfulnessand meditation is not just a one-day-wonder he said, “Did youknow the Surgeon General of theUnited States meditates daily andconsiders mindfulness practiceone of his four rules for health?”
It’s a principle being embracedby Marriott International withthe debut of their ‘MeetingsImagined’ during their annual
Global Sales Mission last week.See page 3 of today’s BEN forsome of the fascinating insights -all I can say is Ommmm.... Jill.

Can you imagine this!“A MEETING is more than
just tables and chairs, so
for a meeng to be truly
successful it needs to have
purpose to make it more
impacul and make it
inspiraonal”.
That was a key insight
introduced at an event last
week in Sydney by MarrioInternaonal’s chief sales &
markeng ocer Asia Pacic,
Peggy Fang Roe.
She was presiding over
the Australian launch of
the hotel giant’s “Meengs
Reimagined” iniave which
was introduced in the US
market two years ago.
Marrio’s Meeng Services
app, tled Red Coat Direct , is
also part of the program.
The App allows a MeengPlanner to request, respond
and connect in real-me with
hotel event sta on any Web-
enabled device - allowing events
to be manager without ever
leaving your seat.
Introduced at the launch was
guest speaker Ma Griggs, a
leading Australian performance
coach and author who gave
a keynote on the importance
of meengs in todays day and
age, and how to make the mostof them through mind and
meditaon pracces.
He works with elite
sportspeople and high prole
execuves alike to reach their full
potenal at work and in life.
The pair are pictured above
during the launch at Pier One.
WHAT do you call someoneon the social circuit in WesternAustralia?
Apparently the correct term is a“Perthonality” - at least accordingto Staging Connections whichincluded the term in a mediarelease sent to BEN today.
HERE’S an idea for an eye-
catching publicity stunt.
Three women attracted lotsof onlookers on the steps of theNew York Public Library last Fri astheir naked bodies were paintedin front of lunch-time crowds.
The performance art piece ispart of the so-called AdipositivityProject, which works to combat“sizeism” by celebrating fatbodies via a photo-activismcampaign - for details seewww.adipositivity.com.
“We’re here promoting bodylove,” said organiser Kimberly
Massengill - who apparently alsogoes by the alias of SubstantiaJones.
WEDDING planners note -perhaps you can expand yourbusiness to include a little moretechnology.
However probably not as muchas this recent wedding in Tokyowhich celebrate the nuptials of -you guessed it - two robots.
It was Japan’s rst “robotwedding” which saw the groom
Frois formally tie the knot withhis humanoid robot bride Yukrin, complete with a metallic kiss.
The ceremony was attendedby about 100 paying guests -and afterwards they partied thenight away with a massive tieredwedding cake, a lavish bufetand lots of dancing - with movespresumably including “the Robo”and “The Robot”.
Luxperience partnersLUXPERIENCE has announced
a new partnership with “luxurytravel designer” group Traveller
Made which has a signicant
presence in Europe.
The alliance will see several
Traveller Made members aend
Luxperience, with the show’s
director of markeng, Michelle
Papas, saying this reects an
increased number of invited
buyers at this year’s event.

she wrote a blog entry which has
