Burj Khalifa is the tallest man-made building in the world that is designed by chief architect Adrian Smith and Bill Baker as the chief structural engineer. It has the most stories and the highest occupied floor of any building in the world. It has been built in a 'Y' shape by means of three wings to keep the weight balanced. It was named in honour of the crucial supporter and the current president of the UAE and king of Abu Dhabi, Khalifa bin Sayed Al Nahyan.

The prime goal behind the construction of this skyscraper was to divert the country's image from a debt-ridden oil-producing country to a tourist Mecca producing necessary income.

The world's tallest skyscraper makes use of 57 double-decker elevators to present an ultramodern look.
