HELLO FROM THE PRINCIPAL!
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
At today’s whole school assembly, hosted by our Student Council, we will be enjoying the musical talents of many of our students. We are fortunate to have the talented Mrs Lee and Mrs Vincent, running our music programme here at school and a growing number of our students also participate in extra-curricula instrumental lessons on guitar and keyboard. Our lovely choir will perform a song they sang as part of the Kids for Kids concert, that was held at the Telstra Events Centre last week. Mrs Vincent reported that they demonstrated excellent behaviour and performed beautifully - well done to all the students who represented us so well!
Special thanks to Mrs Bull for organising Kite Day, which was held earlier this week at Totara Park. The 600+ of us were quite the sight, making our way to the park with all our kites and were thrilled with the number of parents and family members who came to join us. Well done to all the students who made a kite and showed persistence in getting it off the ground. Special mention to our prize winners Kayleigh, Varinder, Breno, Vaelyn, Nathan, Jacob, Eva K, Toria, Dylan (Taylor), Jasleen and Sam!

KITE DAY, 2014Poems by Kea 2, Photos by Mrs Fowler
ConfeN SkyI gaze up into the confeN skyThe kites fluKer, twirl and flyI tug my string, as taut as I couldTo keep it in place, as it shouldThe dazzling tail spirals high,Like a tornado, spinning, twisSng, highSlowly slithering like a snakeA tail of colour it would makeHigher and higher it will soar,Into the cloudsLost to me forever more

At OnceWhere there stars once wereas beautiful as ever beforeThe kite takes over once moreIn the night skyWhere the stars once were
Gliding, slicing straight through the bleeding skyLike a knife slicing through cold butter,Trailing freely, a mind of its ownIt reaches the unsuspecting clouds
At once the stars vanishAt once the sun awakesAt last the kite breaks
