Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's off to camp we go!

By Jamie Merton

On the 28th of August 2019, years 3-6 were very excited to be going on camp to Borambola. Students left school at 9:00am and started their long journey. After a long 2 and a half hour bus ride, students, Mr Davis and Mrs Hickey were escorted to the dining hall by camp leaders and assigned to cabins 9, 11 and 12. After quickly unpacking and settling in, they immediately started Archery. Congrats to Cooper Downey for getting a bullseye! Activities on day one were archery and kayaking. Mason fell in during kayaking, but he was still laughing. On day two stu-dents participated in rock climbing, BMX Bike riding, Flying Fox, Trivia. On day three students fenced before packing up from the long drive home! Everyone had a great time! Year 5 student Ivy Saunders stat-ed, “I think it was a really exciting opportunity, and I hope to go again!” Year 6 student Mason Williams commented, “It was too fun to pick a favourite part!” Students would like to thank Mr Davis, Mrs Hickey and Mr

Hickey for organising the camp and giving up their free time

to come along.

Riverina Greatness at BPS

On the 30th of August 2019, Ryan, Jack, Alerya and Alivia travelled to Anderson Park in Albury for Riverina Athletics Carnival. These students had been successful at district level in the Nigel Bagley Relay. Students were very excited to claim their District uniforms and buy a Riverina jumper to show off their successes. The students’ race was very successful. When the guns went off, Ryan

ran first, Alerya 2nd, Alivia 3rd and Jack sprinted for home. Their baton

passing was spectacular. Students came 6th in their heat. They are very

proud of their efforts.

The Hills are Alive in the Sound of Music

On the 2nd September 2019, three students Amelia, Maddie and Ivy travelled to the Sydney Opera House to sing in a 745 student choir, as part of the Festival of Choral Music. Amelia, Maddie and Ivy were successful in the auditioning of the Riv-erina School Choir. Thank you to Mrs Winterflood who kindly gave up her time to drive the girls to Wagga every 3 weeks to rehearse. Amelia Duffy stated, “It was a life changing experience and I will nev-er forget it.” The girls are practising with Mrs Hickey and 7 more students from
