    GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH(Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod)

    LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSASNovember 3, 2013

    ALL SAINTS SUNDAY

    PRAYER UPON ENTERING CHURCH

Lamb of God, my Lord Jesus Christ, You are the Holy One of God who is worthy of praise.By grace, through faith You have given me the gift of Your righteousness so that I might be holy in

God the Fathers sight and thereby be an heir of heaven. Grant that as I struggle with trial andtemptation in this life You give me strength by the power of the Holy Spirit, to live my life rejoicingthat, even now, You have given me everlasting life. In Your holy name I pray. Amen

    WELCOME

Welcome to Grace! This morning we celebrate All Saints Sunday. We take time today toremember our former members who have died in the faith during this past year and have gone to be

with the Lord. We rejoice that they now stand in the Lords presencejoining the great multitude thatno one could number. We are glad you are here today! We invite you to come and worship again. We ask

everyone to fill out an attendance registration card found at each pew and return it to an Usher duringthe Offering. Children will be invited to come forward for a Childrens Message. Parents mayaccompany them if they wish. A nursery for infants and toddlers is located downstairs. Restroomsare also located downstairs in this building or across the bridge on this floor level before entering thefellowship hall. If you have any questions please ask one of our greeters or ushers. If you need more

information about Grace Lutheran Church please speak with our Pastor.

    HOLY COMMUNION

Holy Communion will be celebrated in the 10:45 Service today. In this sacrament we receiveChrists very body and blood for the forgiveness of sins. Those who are not members of Grace areasked to speak with our Pastor before partaking of this sacrament so that the unity of faith might beestablished. Thank you for honoring this request.

    AS WE GATHER

As Lutherans we do not pray to the saints, but we do remember them with thanksgiving, rejoicing that God in Christ Jesus has given them, even as He will give us, eternal life. It is taughtamong us that saints should be kept in remembrance so that our faith may be strengthened when wesee what grace they received and how they were sustained by faith. Moreover, their good works are to

be an example for us, each of us in his own calling. This statement from the Augsburg Confession

(1530) makes clear that Lutherans remember the saints. We remember not just those officiallyrecognized as such, but also all of the faithful ones who have died, many of whom struggled, as we do,to live what we believe. In our remembering those who have gone before us we are comforted by andrejoice in Gods promise to remember us in mercy.

C I believe in God, the Father Almighty,

    maker of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,

was crucified, died and was buried.

He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead.

    He ascended into heaven

From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.
