Our Vision

Jefferson Center for Mental Health is the not-for-profit community mental

health center serving Jefferson, Clear Creek, and Gilpin counties since 1958.

Our mission is to promote mental health and provide quality mental health

services to persons with emotional problems and/or serious mental illness.

We are partners with our community, working together to create a place that

fosters mental health and supports those with mental health challenges.

As the community’s mental health center serving Jefferson, Gilpin and Clear Creek counties, Jefferson Center for Mental Health has worked tirelessly over the last year promoting a healthy community, renewing hope and changing lives for people with mental health disorders. Each year Jefferson Center brings hope for a brighter future to thousands of community members who struggle with some of lifes toughest challenges.

Mental health issues impact every home. Nearly 1 in 5 Americans will have a mental health problem at some point in their lives. At Jefferson Center we dream of a community in which there is no stigma and no barrier to mental health care; where resources are adequate to meet the need; and where recovery from mental illness is not only possible but highly probable.

Diversity of Service Jefferson Center provides a wide-range of community-based services for individuals of all age groups.

Services are available to individuals with emotional problems, psychiatric emergencies or mental illness such as schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, major depression, or seriously and emotionally disturbed children/adolescents and families at-risk. Jefferson Center employees have expertise in specialty areas such as children and family issues, adults with serious mental illness, suicide prevention, early intervention, juvenile justice, crisis management and trauma treatment.

VolunteerMany of our programs benefit from the commitment and contribution of our volunteers, an integral part of the Jefferson Center team. The Center’s Policy Action Network (PAN) is also a great way to get involved in your community and promote mental health. Members of the PAN establish and maintain positive relationships with elected officials and other decision makers to promote adequate resources and improve the lives of community members.
