Company Overview

Bharat Supply & Support of Military Materials andEquipments “BSS Materiel Limited” – incorporatedand established under the Defense Make In India andStartup India initiatives of the Government of India.

We at BSS Materiel also realize the need of clean andgreen sustainable technologies, which is uncertain interms the availability, because of our limited naturalresources.

Page 3: BSS PPT WPE

BSS Materiel in collaboration with Indian School ofInnovation In Sustainability (INSIST) aims to identify, develop and deploy global " Best of the Best"technologies, training and tools to meet this collectivechallenge the Nation faces.

BSS Materiel works with likeminded stakeholderslike the Indian Armed Forces, DRDO, NDRF, NGO's, totake forward its aim and objectives.

More than one billion people do not have access to fresh drinking water.

Excessive need for water is leading to water stress. Available water to deliver needs costly infrastructure.

Some observers have estimated that by 2025 more than half of the world population will be facing water-based

vulnerability.

How do we manage the looming crisis?

Water Impurities

• Dirty or Muddy water - Dust, fine sand, clay, rust etc.(also called total suspended solids TSS)

• Germs - Algae, Bacteria, protozoa, Pathogens, Microbes, Viruses, Parasites & Cysts, Algae, Fungi, Small crustaceans, fish. (also called Micro organisms). These cause Typhoid, Dysentery, Cholera, Gastroentitis etc.

• Microbes- water tanks breed usually known as coliform

• Chemicals –Chlorine, Pesticides etc.

• Heavy Metals- Arsenic, other chemical wastes etc.

Page 6: BSS PPT WPE

Source Of Impurities In Water

• Gases (O2 , CO2 etc.) are picked up from the atmosphereby rainwater.

• Decomposition of plants and animals remains introduceorganic impurities in water.

• Water dissolves impurities when it comes in contactwith ground, soil or rocks.

• Impurities are also introduced in water when it comes incontact with sewage or industrial waste.

Carbon Block NanoMesh™

A Convergence of Technology

NanoMesh™ & Filtration

Page 11: BSS PPT WPE

Our Drinking Water Systems utilize Multipure’s innovative and proprietary

Solid Carbon Block-based filter combined with patented carbon

NanoMesh™ filter. This filter employs multiple components and materials

to reduce the presence of a wide variety of contaminants in water.

Mechanical Filtration

The water passes through a pre-filter that traps dirt, sand, and particles that

affect the taste and overall appearance of the water. After passing through

the pre-filter, the water then passes through the Solid Carbon Block, where

particles as small as 0.5 microns are physically trapped by the filter.

Asbestos, cysts, and particulates are reduced through mechanical filtration

at the sub-micron level. The pre-filtered water then is polished and post-

filtered by the second carbon NanoMesh™ filter. Rendering the finished

product to comply to NSF 248, 231 NSF/ANSI 42, 53, 401 for incidental

contaminants and emerging compounds as well.

Process of purification

Page 12: BSS PPT WPE

Physiochemical Adsorption

The carbon block filter is a blend of selected activated carbonsand other media that reduce aesthetic contaminants andhealth-related contaminants by adsorbing particles to itssurface. Because the carbon block is densely compacted, itprovides a longer contact time with the water, and thus, betterperformance than many other filtration technologies.

Electro-kinetic Adsorption

The pre-filter acquires a positive molecular charge as waterpasses through it. Since most contaminants exhibit a negativecharge in water, the filter fibers electro kinetically attract thesenegatively-charged particles onto the positively-charged filtersurface. Generally, these particles are too small to be trappedby mechanical filtration.

Nanomesh™ Carbon Block Tech

Unlike alternative water purification technologies, CBTech NanoMesh™ is neither constrained by powerrequirements nor compromised by the need foradditional chemical additives.

Instead, CB Tech NanoMesh™ utilizes proprietarytechnology to enhance its already formidable carbonblock, allowing for up to 6-factor purification of

viruses, bacteria, and cysts.

technology offers certifies

treatment of bacteria and

viruses, creating not just a

carbon block, but a carbon

block purifier.

NanoMesh™

• NanoMesh™ presents an unparalleled, customizable optionfor broad-spectrum water purification coupled with powerfulcarbon block filtration.

• At the heart of NanoMesh™ is the proprietary filtrationtechnology, as small as sub-nanometer in diameter. Superiorelectromechanical properties, enormous surface area, andhigh tensile strength make it ideal for fluid filtration.Activated carbon and substrate fibers are combined toprovide six-factor water purification with low pressure drop.

• NSF tested under Protocol P231/P248 (Microbiological Purifier) to remove up to:

• 99.9999% of Bacteria• 99.99% of Viruses• 99.9% of Cysts

Flexibility for Diverse Applications

Pressurized in-line wall-mounted, countertop or under-sink

Replaces UV with complete purification + greater additionalcontaminant removal without any required electric power.

Replace RO, leaving healthy trace minerals for improved taste andwater conservation with no reject water waste stream.

Use as final barrier after RO to capture bacterial growth in storagetank.

Replace UF with less pressure drop, less clogging + greater additionalcontaminant removal.

First in-line refrigerator “purifying” filter at low pressure drop
