Background

The company was foundedas Stamford College Press

as part of the Stamford CollegeEducational Group in 1963. It

was restructured and renamed Stamford Press Pte Ltd under a new

management group in 1983.

As we grew from strength to strength, thecompany spawned other companies toprovide a host of services in the areas ofsoftware development and technology, aswell as supply chain management to namebut a few.

In 2001, the Stamford Press Group ofCompanies was reintroduced as StamfordMedia International Pte Ltd to encompassour global visions.

I t was election month somewhere in South Asia.

The request came from the Foreign Minister’s

Office: a 700-page case-bound compilation of key-

note foreign policy speeches and a similar 700-page

publication on disarmament – 1500 copies of each

book. The day after the election, the Minister would

like to present the President-elect with advance

copies of these books. They would courier as much

finished artwork as can be made ready in a week

before the election. We accepted the challenge and

our presses prepared to roll.

There is nothing extraordinary about fulfilling these

orders. They are just examples of what we expect to

come through our door any day of the week, election

or no election. That’s in addition to the day-to-day

load of other books, brochures, posters, newsletters

– the sort of thing you’d expect to see in print.
