• In the batch house the raw materials are feed in the silo , weighed, mixed in proper proportion according to the requirement and then send to the furnace doghouse silo.

• Raw materials for making bottles are snow white ,semi snow white ,lime stone , feldspar{AlSi3O8} , dolomite{CaMg(CO3)2 }, potassium carbonate, alumina hydrate, borax{Na2B4O7·10H2O }, sand A, sand B , calcite{CaCO 3} ,soda ash etc.

Cullet processing unit

• Cullet processing unit is also a part of batch house dept. where cullet is also used as raw material.

• Cullet means broken or waste glass used in glass making through recycling process.

• Required cullets is transported by forklift vehicle .• In the cullet processing unit ,there is a step wise

process of the cullet so that clean cullet is obtained. Then these are mixed with raw material in fixed proportion for manufacturing glass bottles.

• There are two types of cullet:• 1.internal cullet-Broken or waste glass of the

plant• 2.External cullet-Broken or waste glass which

from outside the plant.

CULLET PROCESSING UNIT -OVERVIEW

• Firstly the unsorted cullet is feed into the feeding hopper .

• Then through the vibrator it is transfer on the Belt Conveyor. The aim of the Belt conveyor is to transport the raw material . The vibrator vibrates and the cullet falls on the belt conveyor.

• Through the belt conveyor , it is passed to the vibrating screen cullet . While passing to the vibrating screen cullet, there is a magnetic separator in between.

• The aim of the magnetic separator is to separate the iron materials ,if any which comes in the cullet.

• After that the cullet goes to cullet washery tank , there is water through which cullet is washed . Washing of cullet is necessary because it contains oil and dust.

• The washed cullet is passed on the sorting belt or belt conveyor whose width is 1m.There are workers sitting alternate on either sides of sorting belt .They have to remove waste materials like Al rings ,Al caps , stones, papers ,plastic , bottles filled with medicine and plastic bottles . The worker sitting at last does the final sorting.

• After final sorting ,the cullet is passed to Hammer Mill through belt conveyor . Here the cullet is crushed . Then it goes to silo through belt conveyor.

BATCH HOUSE QUARTZ FEEDING PROCESS

• Quartz feeding process is done for screening and to remove Iron from raw materials.

• Firstly the sand is feed into the Ground Hopper . Then the through the vibrator feeder it is passed to the bucket elevator via belt conveyor.

• The function of vibrator feeder is to push raw material in forward direction.

• Bucket elevator is used to transport the raw material from low level to high level.

• The width of the bucket elevator is 350mm.There are 150 Buckets in it.

• Then ,it is passed to the vibrating screen through the belt conveyor . The vibrating screen is 18 mesh.

• The raw material left below 18 mesh is passed to the magnetic separator . The magnetic separator removes iron from the raw material.

• After that the raw material is passed to bucket elevator through belt conveyor to silo.

• Below the silo there is bin activator which function is to remove the raw material if left in the silo.
