I did this booklet because I want people to understand that we only have one world and we need to conserve it

Page 3: BOOKLET VIDAL

My name is Santiago Vidal and I’m 11 years old. I like to play, go to the movies, and be with my friends. I like animals and I love to sleep.

Natural resources are the objects the world provides us so we can survive

NATURAL RESOURCES

NATURAL RESOURCES ARE THE THINGS EARH PROVIDES

Page 6: BOOKLET VIDAL

EXAMPLES: WATER,FOOD,SOIL,AIR, SUNLIGHT, AND SHELTER

THERE ARE 2 TYPES OF NATURAL RESOURCES

RENEWABLE

NONRENEWABLE

Prior knowledge

Water is a liquid we use to live. We use it to hydrate, cooking, fun and bathing. Almost all the water in earth is salt water

Page 9: BOOKLET VIDAL

97% of earths water is salty the other is fresh. Most of all fresh water is freezed in glaciers the other is spreaded in rivers, ponds, lakes, swamps, and waterfalls

Page 10: BOOKLET VIDAL

You can stop leaving the water run off the sink while you brush your teeth or when you take a shower take a shorter time in the shower . Instead of wasting water you can use it to spray your garden .

Page 11: BOOKLET VIDAL

Villagers discover that it is easier to store water in ice than in a reservoir, and less is lost to evaporation.

A new report highlights advancements in reclamation technology and predicts growth in water treatment programs.

Industrial agricultural has significant socioeconomic and environmental costs, although scientists are bringing solutions.

Prior knowledge

Soil is a resource that earth provides and lets plants grow and absorb nutrients

Page 13: BOOKLET VIDAL

Soil is used in many ways you use it to grow your plants, for fun and for molding stuff

Page 14: BOOKLET VIDAL

What is it?

A soil horizon is a layer parallel to the soil surface, whose physical characteristics differ from the layers above and beneath.

Example

Page 15: BOOKLET VIDAL

Soil is a natural body consisting of layers (soil horizons) of primarily mineral constituents of variable thicknesses

Dirt is dead soil with no life

Page 16: BOOKLET VIDAL

We can save soil by planting trees and preventing erosion in soil

Page 17: BOOKLET VIDAL

PRIOR KNOWLEDGE Energy is a resource that can give power to almost everything

Page 18: BOOKLET VIDAL

People use energy for many things, examples: for cleaning for cooking for fun and many other stuff. Clearly people don’t grab energy the energy powers engines that are used for all of this

Page 19: BOOKLET VIDAL

Types of energy: Mechanical energy: is the energy of motion that does the work like the wind turns the windmill Heat energy: were motion or rise in temperature is caused by heat Gravitational energy: where motion, like water going over a dam, is caused by gravity's pull .

The Germans are debating significant revisions to their landmark renewable energy policy, and instead of declaring the death of the German solar market, Americans should focus on why solar still costs so much on this side of the Atlantic

Quite predictably, the U.S. Department of Commerce today announced that it has found that the Chinese government has awarded its solar companies subsidies that are too strong for international trade rules. However, they were essentially found to be much less in violation of trade rules than expected. Imported solar cells and solar panels from China will get hit with tariffs ranging from 2.9% to 4.37%, not nearly as large as many solar companies and analysts were predicting.

You can conserve energy in the following ways: Take short baths(water wastes energy). Instead of leaving al of the lights on use one instead . Instead of using normal light bulbs you can use the ones that save energy.
