About Nurani Insani Foundation

Nurani Insani is a foundation established by a family who deeply concern about the children in their neighborhood who had no access to education due to their poverty. They empower themselves to provide free education and healthcare to the children. They also strive to strengthen the children’s spiritual health and to provide extracurricular activities that will enhance the children’s craftsmanship and other means of productive labor for their future.

About Your Work in English for a Better Education

Job Description:

1. Conduct interactive session to introduce basic English and basic Math to underprivileged teenagers and help them to improve their English ability in interactive way through several activities that created by Intern.

2. Intern should brainstorm with teacher about a good teaching system each week and Intern should be creative to create the best interactive teaching session.

3. Hold culture knowledge session every week with teenagers, show national culture presentation about Intern’s home country.

4. Actively join activities arranged by Nurani Insani Foundation such as recreation day and workshop.

5. Intern should help Nurani Insani’s fundraising event by creating new concept of fundraising event.

6. Intern should prepare a documentary about the internship. Intern is expected to be creative to make this documentary (it can be presentation, slide show, video, etc)

7. Conduct at least 2 interactive Intern’s nationality language sessions per week about basic vocabulary and grammar.

Measurable Results expected from the Intern:

The children's confidence and ability in English is increasing (Intern will be informed about the current condition on the first day of work) proven by giving English test every 2 weeks to all students. The children's foreign language vocabulary is also increasing. Intern is required to attend all classes on working days (Monday to Saturday). Intern is also required to attend all of Nurani Insani Learning activities by summarizing Intern's absence at the end of the internship and Intern should submitted and present documentary about the internship at the end of internship

Preparation required from the Intern before the arrival:

Intern should prepare a presentation about Intern's national culture. In national culture presentation, Intern is required to bring flag of their contry and present traditional song/dance/art from Intern's country. Intern should bring laptop to work and show the presentation.

Learning Points that the Intern might obtain during the Exchange Program:

Intern will learn more about children's life and understand the importance of education. Intern will also learn more about improving their communication skill, project management and event organizing skill. Intern will get EP Buddy from BBC Learning's staff to help Intern adapt with the situation in Jakarta and the internship’s environmet by at least accompany Intern’s every 3 days per week
