For the past 60 years AIESEC has been activating youth leadership around the world.

And it all started with an original idea right after the World War II in our quest to

utilize the energy of the youth to create a positive impact in our society.

The belief in this idea was carried forward, developed, and strengthened.

Today, 64 years later, AIESEC can be described as the 2nd largest network in the

world next to the United Nations and the strongest university-based network of young

people and the world largest student-run organization with more than 1,000,000

alumni, 60,000 current members, based on 111 countries, present in 1,700

universities, with 10,000 leadership positions and almost 16,000 international

exchanges per year.

About AIESEC Davao

In the Philippines, we now have ten AIESEC

universities. Some of AIESEC Philippines’s national

partners are Shell, Smart Communications, Proctor

and Gamble, Haribon Foundation, Ayala Land

Corporation, Standard Chartered Bank and many

more.

AIESEC in Davao (based in Ateneo de Davao

University) is the only AIESEC entity in Mindanao. We

were established 42 years ago with a strong

leadership pipeline which makes as one of the top

performing student organization in the university.

From top 500+ in 2008 and Top 81 in 2009, in 2010,

AIESEC in Davao was ranked one of Top 10 most

outstanding AIESEC universities in the whole of

AIESEC International. We were no. 1 in South East

Asia, after being behind UP Diliman, Ateneo De Manila

and De La Salle universities for more than 40 years.

The members of AIESEC Davao, are offsprings of the

marriage of Ateneo and AIESEC. On one side, Ateneo

teaches us to excel, on the other side AIESEC teaches

how to be global—and so there is only one result;

excel globally. Global excellence, of which is to create

a bigger positive impact in the society.

from all around the world with internship

experiences fit only for AIESEC. Great quality

TNs partnered with the Local Committee has

continually accepted EPs to provide for their

continued and supervised personal and skills

development. Previous EPs of the LC has

continually given positive feedback about the

internships that AIESEC Davao has provided to

them. They have continually been in touch

with the LC and the TN, either for continuance

of their unfinished projects within the TN or

just merely to get in touch with the people that

have changed their lives for the better.

This booklet features our different internship offerings:

Trainee Nominees (TN)

moment, our partners only provide GCDP internships.

For December 2012 to February 2013, we have 2 TNs to

Internship in Davao

The Philippine Eagle Foundation is a private, non-stock,

non-profit organization dedicated to saving the endangered

Philippine Eagle (Pithecophagajefferyi) and its rainforest

habitat. Organized in 1987, it had before that time been

operating as a project undertaking research, rehabilitation,

and captive breeding. Staffed by highly trained and

dedicated personnel, it has today evolved into the country’s

premiere organization for the conservation of raptors.

The Philippine Eagle Foundation

The Philippine Eagle Foundation firmly believes

that the fate of our vanishing Philippine Eagle,

the health of our environment, and the quality of

Philippine life are inextricably linked. We are

therefore committed to promote the survival of

the Philippine Eagle, the biodiversity it

represents, and the sustainable use of our forest

resources for future generations to enjoy.

Internship in Davao

There is no action-oriented organization in the country focused on saving the Philippine Eagle and its

habitat other than the Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF). The Philippine Eagle is ecologically important

to people and yet vulnerable to human activities. Conservation of the Philippine Eagle contributes to

sustainable development and improves the quality of human life by maintaining biological diversity and

environmental health.

The PEF's work helps develop public understanding of wildlife and natural resources issues thereby

generating grassroots support for national policy decisions. The PEF's holistic approach to wildlife

management presents a model for replication in the international arena. The PEF facilitates

participation by individuals, corporations, non-government organizations, schools and communities

through its unique conservation initiatives. The Philippine Eagle is an important natural and cultural

heritage. It is a powerful symbol by which our people can rally around for the conservation of our

natural resources. Website: http://www.philippineeagle.org/

Institute For Socio-economic Development Initiatives

The Institute for Socio-Economic Development Initiatives

(ISFI) (formerly, Institute for Small Farms and Industries)

envisions empowered communities and sustainable

organizations by nurturing men and women to reach their

full potentials and maximize their resources; are committed

to serve God and the country, and are willing to become

agents of change.

Almost three decades – that’s how long we are in this

development business – working with vulnerable

communities: the upland farmers, subsistence fisher folks,

indigenous people, urban poor, micro-entrepreneurs, and

yes, even the most economically challenged local

government units (LGUs).

ISFI focus on those things that matter most. EMPOWERING

people and their organizations so they can work together

better. DEVELOPING entrepreneurs so they can be their own

boss, create employment and value to our local raw

resources. STRENGTHENING the capacities of LGUs so they

can formulate more appropriate policies and make positive

impact on their constituency. GENERATING information

through research and project monitoring and evaluation so

development organizations and private corporations have

solid basis for their interventions.

Institute For Socio-economic Development Initiatives

The Institute for Small Farms and Industries (ISFI) is an outreach arm of the Ateneo de Davao University, one of Mindanao’s premier educational institutions. ISFI was organized in 1981 through a grant from the Belgian Government and the University of Louvain through the Association of Catholic Universities of the Philippines, initially to form self-reliant communities among the urban and rural people in Mindanao. After the successful run of its first project on social credit extended to women in one coastal community in Davao City, the Institute has developed a distinct project approach called “environmentally sustainable enterprise organizing”, embracing people’s organizations and empowering them to establish income-generating and environment-friendly livelihood projects. Soon, the Institute has expanded to other provinces in Davao Region, Northern Mindanao and Cotabato. Marking 2008 as its 27th year of existence, the Institute’s work is more associated with capacitating communities and groups of people marginalized by education, distance (such as in upland and remote places), ethnicity, gender, age, religion and lack of economic opportunities. ISFI practices the principles of participation and shared responsibility, taking great care in involving the beneficiaries and other stakeholders in every major decision. While ISFI maintains a lean core staff, it has developed its own network of experts, with as many as forty individuals, who can be tapped to undertake specialized technical engagements. It also draws support from the University for its Administrative Requirements and in return, provides opportunity for graduating students to get their first practical exposure in development work.
