§ Approximately 350 additional students with special needs will begin attending school 4 days a week, beginning on Thursday, November 12th
§ Beginning on November 18th, Wednesdays are scheduled to become part of the hybrid rotation, beginning with Cohort A and alternating between cohorts each Wednesday thereafter
Ø We anticipate needing 7 additional buses, and thus 7 additional drivers, to accommodate the additional students.
Expanding In-Person Learning Opportunities
§ School counselors and CARES Coordinators are analyzing student survey data, and identifying themes and forming groups accordingly
§ Physical Education teachers have taught wellness strategies related to stressors caused by the closure and COVID-related issues; counselors are collaborating with P.E. teachers to provide additional wellness activities
§ School counselors have continued individual outreach through in-person and virtual groups and classes, counselor-run spirit weeks, and newsletters
§ CR website posting highlights how to access mental health supports
Student Wellness
§ Communication is being streamlined from ABM to classroom teachers, and from classroom teachers to school administration; checklists are in place in all classrooms; SchoolDude is being used to document any custodial issues or needs
§ Refining extracurricular activity logistics for virtual and hybrid students to ensure equity of access; each advisor/sponsor is submitting a plan in alignment with the CRSD Health & Safety Plan
Health and Safety
§ Curriculum Coordinators and teachers have identified missed/partially taught standards and mapped those to the next grade level/course; for core subject areas, using district benchmark assessments to identify gaps
§ District Library Coordinator/Librarians have selected, produced, and delivered digital citizenship models; select digital citizenship video clips are being broadcast this week
§ Effective October 26th, implemented web-based portal for parents/students to submit tickets for assistance; eliminates need to translate emails; automatically routes the ticket to the correct technician
Teaching and Learning
§ Continue to increase recruitment efforts to create a strong CR presence; current and advance postings are available on statewide systems, via social media, etc.; was recently a featured advertiser on Education Week, a preeminent national weekly publication
§ All active postings, as well as anticipated openings, are listed on Handshake, which reaches over 20 area colleges and universities
§ Increasing opportunities to meet candidates through virtual job fairs and through university-based virtual career fairs
Staffing
One-Question Survey: Which of these learning models do you prefer for your child?

The following cost analysis was based on the most recent parent survey, which had an 87.5% response rate, and assumes that virtual students would be combined by grade level across the District:§ This model would require a minimum of 9 additional
teachers at a cost of approximately $367,000 from January 4th through the end of the school year
§ Factoring in the remaining 12.5% of the students would increase the number of teachers needed
§ Factoring in Kindergarten would likely also increase the number of teachers needed
Cost-Out: Grades 1-6 Offering of Separate 5-Day/Week, Hybrid, and Virtual Classes
§ The proposed February 22nd target date was deemed too late by a majority of the Board at the most recent board meeting
§ The Administration is prepared to execute the will of the Board, to the best of our abilities, relative to a different target date
§ Staffing is the most significant concern; staffing of our schools and also First Student staffing of bus drivers
