If your hand is greater than the dealer’s hand without going over 21, the player wins. We offer two variations of Blackjack at Silver Reef Casino Resort. Double Deck, which is played with two 52 card decks. Our other variation of Blackjack is dealt from a multiple deck shoe. Both versions offer a side bet called Lucky Ladies, and the Blackjack shoe offers an additional 21+3 Progressive bet. HOW TO PLAY BLACKJACK To begin, the dealer deals two cards (face up, or face down depending on game version) to each player. The dealer’s first card faces up and their second card, which is placed underneath, faces down. All face cards (King, Queen, Jack) count as 10 each and all other cards count at face value except the Ace, which may count as 1 or 11 depending on the rest of the hand. An Ace with any 10 value card on the first two cards is a Blackjack. Blackjack pays 3 to 2 unless the dealer also has a Blackjack, in which case it is a push—a tie. When the dealer’s top card is a 10 value card they peak at their bottom card using a mirror. If the dealer has Blackjack, and no players have blackjack, all bets are taken and the round is over. When the dealer’s top card is an Ace, the dealer turns their hand 90° and opens an additional bet called Insurance. Insurance is a side bet that the dealer has 21 when showing an ace. Insurance may be taken for up to half the original bet and pays 2 to 1. At this point, it is the players’ turn to act. Players have the option make a variety of decisions based on the total of their first two cards. If they have unfavorable cards, they may surrender half their bet and back out of the hand, however, Surrender is not permitted in Double Deck. If a player wants an additional card, they request a hit by using a scratching motion with their finger, or their cards in Double Deck, on the table. If a player does not want a hit, they may stand by making a lateral waving motion with their hand over their cards, or by placing their cards under their wager in Double Deck. Players may also double down, taking one additional card by doubling their bet, but only on their first two cards. Another option the player has is called a split. A player may split any pair of equal value (remember all Face cards have a value of 10) except Aces, up to three times (creating four separate hands). When splitting a pair of Aces, only one card is given per Ace, and Aces may only be split one time.

HOW TO PLAY BLACKJACK

To begin, the dealer deals two cards (face up, or face down depending on game version) to each player.
