3. Mindfulness ActivitiesMindfulness practices can help us to increase our ability to regulate emotions, decrease stress, anxiety and depression. It can also help us to focus our attention, as well as to observe our thoughts and feelings without judgment. (Missionbe.org)

5. Further Service Support and contacts

If you have concerns about your children’s wellbeing or need to seek advice, supports or information, you can contact:

- Samaritans Child and Parenting Support team - offering tailored support to meet the individual needs of parents and carers. You may like to use their online Parenting Support. You can ask a question at any time and receive a response from a professional parent educator within 2 working days. Enquiries can be made at https://www.samaritans.org.au/service/playgroup/

- CALM family Support- provides direct services to families with children aged 0 to 12 years living in West Lake Macquarie. They can provide Advice, information, referral and support to assist with parenting. Contact the team on 4950 3855 or [email protected].

- Headspace- provides mental health and wellbeing support, information and services to young people aged 12 to 25 years and their families. Call 1800 650 890, 9am-1am AEST / 7 days a week.

- Beyond Blue- aims to increase awareness and understanding of depression and anxiety. Call 1300 22 4636, 24 hours / 7 days a week.

- Kids Helpline- is Australia’s only free 24/7 confidential and private counselling service specifically for children and young people aged 5 to 25. Call 1800 55 1800.

- Your GP- During this time GPs are taking phone appointments. They can help guide you towards the best support options for your situation.

- BPPS Chaplain/Wellbeing support officer- I will be present at the school for the remainder of the term. If you would like to make contact me, my hours are: Monday: 8:30am-3:30pmTuesday: 8:30am-12pmI can be contacted through the school on 02 4959 1213
