Every creation by Ata «Toast» Bozaci begins with a sketch: black ink on white paper. From thatevolve his illustrations and graffiti, which are impressive in their simplicity.

Am Anfang aller grafischen Arbeiten von Ata «Toast» Bozaci steht die Skizze: schwarze Tinte aufweissem Papier. Daraus entstehen Illustrationen und Graffiti, die durch ihre Einfachheit überzeugen.

«There was a particular graffiti in the east of Bern in 1994. It was a reduced TOAST piece, where the O was a grinning face. The wall was on my way to school and into the city centre. I saw that piece nearly every day, sometimes with wonderment, sometimes in passing and sometimes with an amused smile. One day, the graffiti had been painted over, probably during a renovation. That was in 2006. The wall didn’t stay empty for long. Ata soon had his own answer; the signature is now a bit more advanced and modern, the face has more style. The way has become something to aim for and my way home is now complete again. Ata, it’s great that you still do such things.»

«Im Osten von Bern gab es seit 1994 ein Graffiti mit dem simplen, reduzierten Schriftzug TOAST, das O war ein

grinsendes Gesicht. Die Hauswand lag auf meinem Weg in die Schule und ins Stadtzentrum. Fast jeden Tag habe

ich das Teil betrachtet und dabei mal gestaunt, mal beiläufig zur Kenntnis genommen und mal geschmunzelt. Eines

Tages war das Graffiti übermalt worden, wohl im Zuge einer Renovation. Das war 2006. Leer war die Wand nicht

lange; Ata liess diese Sache nicht unbeantwortet, der Schriftzug ist jetzt ein bisschen progressiver und moderner,

der Kopf noch stylischer. Der Weg ist das Ziel und mein Weg nach Hause ist jetzt wieder vollständig. Ata, schön

machst Du solche Sachen noch.»
