The Executive Committee is charged with providing leadership and direction for the branch. 4.2 Recipients of the 2018 Rosalind Denny Volunteer Awards: Lorraine & Richard Chyne and Julia Gross. 4.3 Presentation of 25 Year Member badges: Lorraine Chyne, Richard Chyne, Jesz Fleming, Brendan Kinsella and Jane Prince. Apologies from: Badges and certificates to be posted after the AGM: Alison Brown, Ray Chadwick, Peter Curry, Kate Dawson, Elizabeth Hanrahan, John Hanrahan, Greg Harewood, Ruby Johnson, Hamish McGlashan, June Morrison, Wendy Mullany, Michael Nield, Tina Smith, Hamish McGlashan and Gregory Wyllie. 5 Treasurer’s Report Presented by Treasurer who explained unrealised losses on the BWA investment portfolio had a major impact on results. 6 Election of New Office Bearers

Returning Officer Mandy Bamford declared all positions vacant. Those standing for the Executive Committee were elected unopposed. Chair: Viv Read Vice Chair: Mike Bamford Treasurer: Beverley Winterton Secretary: Lou Scampoli General Committee: Plaxy Barrett, Alasdair Bulloch, Max Goodwin, Mark Henryon, Andrew Hobbs and Jennifer Sumpton.

7 General Business Neil Hamilton asked what action the conservation and research committee was taking regarding the Western Ground Parrot. Sue Mather stated its habitat on state-controlled land set limitations on what BirdLife WA could achieve. Mandy Bamford noted the BirdLife Australia Board has recognised the issues facing the Western Ground Parrot. Agreed BirdLife WA should form an opinion and discuss course of action.

8 Speakers Bob Green, of Avian Monitoring Services South Australia, presented the hydrological restoration and revegetation works at Piccaninnie Ponds, a recent addition to Australia’s list of Ramsar wetlands. Also undertaken was blocking of drains, building levy banks, and creating fishways.
