Structuring private equity and venture capital investmentsPrivateequityinLatinAmericahasgrownconsistentlyinrecentyears.Interest in the region is high compared to developed countries, presenting an optimistic picture for the years to come. The industry is maturing rapidly: there are more local funds ready to invest, while foreign investors arechangingtheirrolefrominvolvement-freeinvestorsseekingcheapmultiples, to more committed investors willing to participate actively in the company after the deal is secured. However, there are still many limitations including restricted level of leverage, lack of diversity in the financial products, underdeveloped capital markets and difficulty in exiting. Latin American lawyers are a key factor in bringing the right expertise and the right tools to structure the deals, develop the business and secure effective exit strategies.

Conference sell-outsTheIBAplacesitsconferenceinvenuesofasuitablesizefortheevent;however there are times when our conferences may sell out. Should this happen, prospective delegates will be informed and a waitlist will operate. Thewaitlistwillfunctionona‘firstcome,firstserved’basis,subjecttoreceiving registered delegate cancellations. The IBA will not be liable for any travel or accommodation expenses incurred by an individual who travels to the conference without a confirmed place at the event.

Cancellation of registrationIf cancellation is received in writing at the IBA office by 31 January, fees will be refunded less a 25 per cent administration charge. We regret that no refunds can be made after this date. Registrations received after 31 January will not be eligible for any refund of registration fees.
