WelcomeWe are very glad to have you worshiping our gracious God with us today.

Flowers The sanctuary flowers are given today to the glory of God and in

gratitude for your part in the mission of changing lives every day at Heritage Academy.

To Our Guests,We especially welcome you today! More information about our church is available on our website at firstpresaugusta.org.

Spiritual CareIf you would like to speak to someone about what it means to know Jesus Christ or you have any spiritual need or question, please use one of the prayer cards in the pew rack to contact one of our pastors. Our church elders are also available to speak with you. An elder will be standing next to the pastor following the service.

Children’s Check-inWe are committed to the highest level of protection possible for the children placed in our care on Sundays and at all church events. For this reason, we require parents of newborns through fifth grade children to check in their children before they go to the nursery, Sunday School, Catechism, Children’s Church or any other children’s activity. Several kiosks are available in the Welcome Center. The process is quick and easy, and volunteers are available if you need assistance checking in.

Children’s WorshipWe offer a specially designed program for children in pre-k through fourth grade during the morning services. A leader will escort children from the sanctuary to their classrooms during the hymn of preparation. Parents are welcome to accompany them to observe where to pick them up after the service. Parents of children in pre-k through second grade are asked to pick up their children following Sunday School or the 11 a.m. worship service.

Nursery Nurseries are provided for infants and toddlers during the worship services and Sunday School. We also provide a Mother/Infant Room located beside Nursery 1 which is equipped with live video feed of the worship services. Ushers are available to direct you.

Additional Seating Additional seating for morning and evening worship services is available each week in St. Andrew’s Hall.

As stewards of God’s resources, we try not to print an excess of bulletins. We invite you to bring this bulletin with you when you return for the evening service.

†The Confession of Faith ............................................................Heidelberg Catechism

The Personal Confession of Sin (Please kneel if able to do so)

Q. 4 What does the Law of God require of us?

A. Christ teaches us in sum, Matthew 22, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

Q. 5 Can you keep all this perfectly?

No, for I am prone by nature to hate God and my neighbor.

Q. 7 From where, then, does this depraved nature of man come?

From the fall and disobedience of our first parents, Adam and Eve, in Paradise, whereby our nature became so corrupt that we are all conceived and born in sin.

The Corporate Confession of Sin

Gracious Father, we have become a reproach to the lost world around us. Our lack of holiness and failure to deal with sin has brought on us the contempt and ridicule of the world. We confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not done your will and have broken your law. We have rebelled against your love. We have not loved our neighbors and we have refused to hear the cry of the needy. O God, have mercy on us! Revive your church that we may exercise a righteous influence in the world. Cause your presence and power to be displayed in this church so that believers and unbelievers will be in awe of you. Do this, O God, for the sake of your Son, who bought and established the church with his own blood! For the sake of Jesus and his love for the church, grant revival to your people. Amen.

†The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s PrayerOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

(Sung by all)How sweet the name of Jesus soundsIn a believer’s ear!It soothes our sorrows, heals our wounds,And drives away our fear.

I makes the wounded spirit wholeAnd calms the troubled breast;’Tis manna to the hungry soul,And to the weary, rest.

†The Response—O the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus ...............................Soverign Grace(Sung by all)O the deep, deep love of Jesus, Vast, unmeasured, boundless, free! Rolling as a mighty ocean In its fullness over me! Underneath me, all around me, Is the current of thy love Leading onward, leading homeward To thy glorious rest above!

Oh the deep, deep loveAll I need and trustIs the deep, deep love of Jesus

O the deep, deep love of Jesus, Spread his praise from shore to shore! How he loveth, ever loveth, Changeth never, nevermore! How he watches o’er his loved ones, Died to call them all his own; How for them he intercedeth, Watcheth o’er them from the throne!

The Assurance of Pardoning Grace ........................................................ John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Offertory—Good Shepherd of My Soul ...................................... Getty and Townend

Words and Music: Keith Getty, Kristyn Getty, Stuart Townend, and Fionan de Barra | ©2013 Getty Music Publishing, Fionan de Barra and Townend

Good shepherd of my soul, come dwell within me; Take all I am and mold your likeness in me. Before the cross of Christ, this is my sacrifice: A life laid down and ready to follow.

The troubled find their peace in true surrender; The pris’ners their release from chains of anger. In springs of living grace, I find a resting place To rise refreshed, determined to follow.

I'll walk this narrow road with Christ before me, Where thorns and thistles grow and cords ensnare me. Though doubted and denied, he never leaves my side, But lifts my head and calls me to follow.

And when my days are gone, my strength is failing; He'll carry me along through death’s unveiling. Earth’s struggles overcome, heav’n’s journey just begun– To search Christ’s depths and ever to follow.
