1. Preparing the pCVD Amplifier1.1 Transimpedance amplifier configuration
• Something extremely simple (J. Koopman 08/10/2007 EDA-01716)• 1x THS3001• 1x Resistor 1 K ohm • 2x Resistor 51 ohm
• 2 x Decoupling Caps 100nF• 2 x Decoupling Caps 6.8uF • 2 x SMA Connectors (IN/OUT)• 2 x LEMO Connectors (Power +/- 12V)
I in V out
Vout = Rf * Iin
V out (50 ohms Load) = (1K * I in) / 2

1. Preparing the pCVD Amplifier1.2 Testing before installation
20 ns
350 mV
• Using a Photodiode to emulate the Diamond Detector:• Aim: Testing the timing behaviour• Same electric model (but different values)• Similar response (light charged particles)• Laser driver circuit built
• Modulation with pulse source (3ns pulses)• Laser direct modulation
• SMF 9/125 um connection

3. Issues and To-do list• 1. Scans data from BWS51730 not stored on DB
• Need to repeat measurements for comparison • 2. Noise studies (FFT, distribution, stdev…)
• Check correlation with Cable measurement campaign (all systems were off)• 3. Profile analysis and processing (To-do)
• Base-Line removal• Integrals by software every 25ns (using Bunch CLK)• Voltage on 50ohm Charge value• Select only one bunch• Gaussian fit on profiles considering 1ms-1 (Beam sigma comparison)• Study non-uniformity of Gaussian profile (Scint + PMT looks “more Gaussian”)
• Betatron oscillations??• Effect of random particle shower?? • Wire vibration??• Noise on HV??• Longer pulse??• …• Theories are welcome!! Thanks to Emiliano’s help!
