Refresh, a Non-denominational Worship Concert Comes to the Community at the Crockett Park Amphitheater, May 18, 7:30 pm. This free concert, benefits GraceWorks Ministries of Williamson Cty with a love offering and food drive. Refresh features three outstanding local worshipbands including BUMC’s Jeff Wood (Awakening service).

BUMC Foundation Scholarship Applications Now Available - Deadline is May 1Each year BUMC Foundation awards at least four $1000 renewable scholarships to high school or college seniors who are participants in the life of BUMC and are plan-ning a career in a helping or caring profession (like teaching, medical field, biblical studies, etc.). Application deadline is May 1. In addition, the Foundation offers the $6,000 Howard Olds Scholarship for seminary students. Individuals eligible to apply for this award are seminary students approved by the Tennessee Conference of the United Methodist Church, or an adjacent conference, for full-time Master of Divinity or similar education in a United Methodist owned, affiliated or approved educational institution. Are you interested in Foster Parenting?Children in Williamson Co. need your love and stability…consider these statistics: • 72 children in Williamson County were committed to state custody in 2010. • 3,981 children in Williamson County were at poverty level in 2010. • there were 71 cases of child abuse in Williamson County in 2010. BUMC is proud to host training classes for those families interested in foster care beginning in May. These classes, sponsored by our Committee for Adoption, Foster Care and Orphan Support, will teach you about the foster care system. The class series is called PATH (Parents as Tender Healers). Habitat for Humanity – Giving continues this Sunday Fundraising totals are in, and we are nearing our $70,000 goal! Please drop your
contribution for the Habitat for Humanity build in the collection plate, mail it to the church with “H4H” on the memo line, or go online to the BUMC Access page to make your contribution.

Our BUMC Global Impact Team has developed five international mission trips that will be happening at various dates between June 25, 2014 and January 30th, 2015 with a mission to serve, learn and to forge transformative relationships in the name of Christ.

Snacks and Juice Boxes NeededWe are looking for individuals, families or Sunday School classes to donate snacks and juice boxes for our After-school Program. Snacks needed include: fruit snacks, granola bars, goldfish, teddy grahams, peanut butter crackers and 100 calorie packs. Juice boxes must be 100% juice. Snack sponsorships of $100 are also welcome. The Harvest Hands AAU Basketball Team Announcing the creation of a fourth grade AAU boy’s basketball team! We are looking for fifteen $250 sponsorships, so we can in turn charge only a small participation fee. Sponsorships help cover costs of jerseys, tournament entry fees, and travel. Mail sponsorship checks to Harvest Hands, 424 Humphreys St., Nashville, 37203.
Elementary School After-school Program Volunteers Needed for 2013-2014 Programming runs Mon-Thurs, 3:45-6 pm and Friday, 3:45-5 pm. Volunteer commit-ment is once a week.
