‘Sound bite’ information. (headings / info that are easy to pick out)

What to Include in a Resume:
Name, address, and phone numbers. Career objective. Summary of qualifications. Education. Experience. Honors. Achievements Activities. References.

Career Objective or Position Sought
Make it like job a description an employer might use in a job listing.
Job title or short to-infinitive statement. Put it after your address, before the first
major heading.

Summary of Qualifications:
Show your knowledge of specialized terminology of your field, and offer specific quantifiable achievements.
Accounting experience. Experience with accounts payable, accounts
receivable, audits, and month-end closings. Prepared monthly financial reports.
Good presentation skills. Given 20+ individual and team presentations to
groups ranging from 5 to 100.

Reverse chronological order
Drop high school once graduated from college; never include primary school.
Include study abroad.
List professional certifications under ‘Education’ or in a separate category.
Include your GPA (if it’s good).

that may be relevant to the job you’re applying for.

Volunteer work. Participation in organized groups that
demonstrates leadership, teamwork, or specialized skills related to the job you’re applying for.
Student government. School clubs. Intramural sports. Religious groups.
Membership in professional associations.

phone. Focus on people who can comment on
your work (instructors and employers).
